@Leveller awe yeah ..what a wonderful notification. Glad it brought some sunshine to your day. Zoom calls always stress me out at first cause I can never get the camera/ audio to work. Grateful you had it turned off while in the bath :winking_face_with_tongue:

Much love .. great to see you working hard with your tools. Keep at it :flexed_biceps:t4::flexed_biceps:t4:
@ShadowFax way to go with your 5 months :tada::confetti_ball:. Thanks for dropping in to share your milestone… keep it going strong :flexed_biceps:t4:
@CR84 yippee! 1 month milestone :tada::tada:. Way to go Cass! Love that you used the savings from addiction as your milestone gift ..hugs to your partner! Keep showing up for yourself girl :hugs:
@Mtrav0040 a tattoo sounds like a great way to signify the next chapter. I would also find someone to talk to as you shouldn’t be dealing with the emotional toll from your divorce alone. Emotional eating is a way for the body/ mind to reach for comfort. Think it’s a great idea for you to seek other creative outlets. :hugs:

A big hooray :tada:… I have short changed myself in a few orders and kicked myself for doing so. Your time is valuable and should be respected. Glad you are seeing that and making the appropriate changes for future contracts

Day 1315
Afternoon check in
Just taking a break at work. Its been a crazy busy day. Doing mulitple loads of laundry and a deep clean on my clients suite. Ive done the majority of the tasks already and was told to save some tasks for the evening shift lol I just like being productive and busy

Going to spend some time on my gratitude list shortly and then get back to the laundry. Its so great tho to see people taking milestones and to see some familiar faces returning! Thats fantastic!!

Alright… 1 week sober. Pretty good week all things told! I feel a million times better than this time last week so I’m just going to keep holding onto that feeling. Next week should probably be ā€œno more chocolateā€ week, but this week I needed a little boost to look forward to and hey, it’s a lot better than alcohol

Way to go James! Congratulations on your 1 week milestone :tada::tada:

Don’t be super hard on yourself about the chocolate…we need that sugar craving to balance out in the early days. You are doing great :confetti_ball::flexed_biceps:t4:

Checking in on day 788. I actually have strong urges to drink tonight. Bloody emotions and feelings. I just want my brain to be quiet. I am working on a jigsaw. Hopefully that will get me into a flow state and through the urges. I’ll check in again later to be accountable. I will not go to the shop. Fuck face (pet name for my addict voice) will not win :flexed_biceps: I hate this time of year, getting darker. I wish I could excercise to the point of exhaustion. Any suggestions for something else to give me a good dopamine hit much appreciated. :victory_hand::heart:

Try conscious connected breathing (YT probably does some videos). It’s genuinely a natural high, no bullshit. I promise you it’s amazing.

I don’t typically get the urge to drink now.
However this is a constant.
Especially if I’m tired.

I’ve been doing a lot more afternoon guided meditations on the Insight Timer app. Just 20-30 minute ones. Sometimes I do fall asleep. Oh well. It helps me.

Do u like to clean? I like to play some dance music while deep cleaning. I find its a good way to get some mild exercise in and the end result is very satisfying lol. Keeps my hands n mind busy also

Sorry to hear about ur strong urges tho :frowning: I hope that u can ride the wave and get thru them. In fact, i know u can

My ME is bad at the moment. I can’t get of the sofa. My house, that I like tidy, is a mess. I am going to karaoke as per @Tragicfarinelli suggestion. Love this community :victory_hand::heart:

I haven’t had urges to drink in sooo long. I will do a good sleep meditation before bed to help with stoopid brain and switching off. Thank you for the reminder. :victory_hand::heart:

Enjoy that karaoke time – scream it loud! Sorry the ME is causing such distress. You are among friends here… don’t have to deal with this alone. Keep finding ways to distract yourself - much love Kiki :hugs:

Yesterday dropped the kids at their grandparents and the wife and I went out to local amateur fight night. Was good, wrapped up pretty early so we popped in somewhere for a burger on the way home.

I used to always associate going to watch fights (or any sport) with drinking. Being sober I can pick up on the fact that actually most people there aren’t drinking. Admittedly there were a coupl really drunk people but their interest in the fights quickly faded and I think they left
