Checking in daily to maintain focus #80

2194 days since my last drink.

For transparency I haven’t smoked any weed since before I quit smoking ciggs over 3 years ago. My lungs :lungs: feel great. Its nice to be able take a deep full breath again.

The new job is going well. Im in a tweaker zone. Is there any place that isn’t?

Its been over 7 years since i did meth April 2018 is when I found this place.

There’s 3 bars close to the boat.

Everyone smokes weed but me and the captain. Hes a hard ass. I don’t really like him I’m committed for the season and I will finish it and see how I feel about him after. He has 25 years sober and is not what I’m looking for as a sobriety mentor.

Im glad I have this place!

Checking in day 113. TGIF. Even though yesterday had a Friday vibe all day. I made it, so far, through a crazy winds-of-change astronomical week. I have to take a three day weekend now, to rest and re-set my playing pieces for the next game in life. Let’s do this one fully sober, so we can play to win. PS @tailee17 do you have to oven dry walnuts where you live, or are they hull-less and dry off of the trees? There are some in my neighborhood, but the squirrels carry them off!

Happy Friday, everyone! Day 32 here, I was the first one in the office today which hasn’t happened in a LOOONG time - especially on a Friday. I would definitely be hungover because Thursday is close enough to Friday and I would usually be too hungover and would work from home. Not anymore! It feels really good to be sharp and present at work again. Excited and a bit nervous about my first meeting tonight but I know it’s a big step and I’m proud of myself. Hope everyone has a good sober 24 hours!

Work has been going much better this week than I had expected. No interactions with controlling bosses which is always good. This morning I caffed up, fed the cats and gave my daughter a bath. One more work day to get through today. Keep going everyone, sober and a day at a time!

@mno Stunning photo as always. Such an adventure I love this for you

@s_unrelax 30 DAYS! Yeeeeeeeesssssss

@lucalds Happy 10 WEEKS (belated) So happy your art turned out the way you had hoped. I see your love for your art, and I am certain it translates. Truly inspiring.

@supermassivedarkstar I’m sorry to see that you’re going through it. We have all questioned our choice to feel again. Let’s be honest, every single person is numbing/running from something. Shit… I STILL DO… with yoga and meditation You WILL find your light. Try something new like writing, an instrument, etc. Maybe something you just never could before. You got this! I promise it’s worth it.

@brian1965uk WOHOO 60th BIRTHDAY! Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate… a nice and calm HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Checking in on Day 78… Had a nice chill night. Made it to my meeting so I was incredibly happy about that. Doing our “thanksgiving” in a week and I have zero prep done cleaning, cooking or otherwise. I’m still not great but I am okay enough to pick at some chores. I love my dogs and my cat but if they could stop shedding for a bit that would be fantastic. My poor floors lol. I miss carpet everywhere. They are adorable and always there for me when no one else is, so I guess I will keep them  Light & Love ALL :star: :black_heart:

That’s super cool. I really like the Exit games and I have two similar kind of crime games to play here as well with a case file etc

Good morning friends. I’m still trying to get my stuff going in the right direction. Day 1 again. I’ve made another big mess of things and digging out again.

I will try to be more active and accountable.

Also love the case file games. We once had a funny moment with those. The core crime of the story was related to a very specific kind of poisoning. Unfortunately one of the participants on that evening was a physician who had just recently published an article on this type of poisoning in a medical paper. At the very beginning of the game session he pulled one of the documents from the case file and had the whole thing solved in about five minutes. We had quite the laugh and wrote to the publisher to place a suitable disclaimer

Congrats man! That is awesome. Glad all went well with the location as well
@Anonymous2022 Well done on your 3 weeks! Keep going strong :muscle:

Grateful that you are doing this. That you are aware of all the chaos an hope that it gets easier for you soon  :hugs:
@SupermassiveDarkStar Sorry that you are feeling this way. Are you able to discuss this in person with a therapist or counsellor? For me meditation is a calming source that helps deal with overstimulation. Hope you can find something that will offer you the same comfort and calmness

Very encouraging Andre I love this :hugs: Its so awesome that the little man is wanting to make his own money and learn new / exciting ways to make it happen.

You are safe. you are growing and evolving. It is a beautiful journey. Grateful you are here with us and sharing your story  Knowing the month is going to be rough is a great awareness cause it gives you time to solidify your tools on how to get through it. :people_hugging:
@Brian1965uk Happy 60th birthday Brian! :tada: :birthday_cake:
@Lyricazelea Welcome back and congrats on your almost 2 weeks. Keep at it. It does get easier. The body is detoxing and it will take some time for the mind and body to regulate. :hugs:
@CharlieC Great to see you posting Charlie. Sorry for the relapse. Great to see you determined and working on day 1. Sticking to a routine and staying connected here have helped me stay accountable and focused. I know that when I crave it is best to log on and read here. Within 1/2 hour at the most I find my urges gone and my determination for sobriety get solidified.

Checking in on Friday afternoon
Had a great start to the day but now my lack of sleep is catching up and I want to take a nap. Not sure if that is gonna be possible. Have to get moving - maybe that will be helpful.
A few things for work that I do need to get done and that takes socializing so I do need to get caffeinated.

Have a wonderful addiction free day my friends. Sending you all so much love

It was really ridiculous. The host opened the envelope with the game material, all kinds of papers fell out, that MD had one quick glance at that pile, pulled one sheet of paper out from somewhere in the middle of it, looked at it for honestly like a few seconds and said: “This is not good. That guy was continuosly beeing poisoned with X for quite a while now…” We didn’t even know what the whole case was about at that point.
We then started to read the intro to the case and the other files, but it was already too late…
Probably the shortest run through this game ever.

oh man now that is definitely something - Funny and also frustrating.

makes for a good story but not so much a good game night.

LOL seriously - hopefully the first and last time that this happens

Not an expert but this is what I have learned…

Black Walnuts fall from trees with the hull still intact

English Walnuts (our) Hull breaks open while in tree and drops. First few years we paid to hull, dry and have cracked. Processor closed down and last couple years we let dry naturally and do not crack. Unfortunately rain made process a bit more of a challenge. We are bagging with mesh bags. Of Course our climate does dry the walnuts faster. Cracked walnuts in the oven for a few minutes bring out a wonderful flavor.

Jazzy, thank you for your nice note. I certainly need to try anything and everything at my disposal. This just can’t continue like I’ve let it.

The only reason I’m not out on the streets is my saintly wife.

I appreciate all of the good wishes.
