5 years sober, well last week anyway so I just thought I would check in and let some people know who have helped me along the way and let some newbies to this journey know that I too was once a hopeless case living life on self will and the only experience I had was being drunk all the time and taking drugs every day. How was I ever going to teach myself to live a sober life when I had no knowledge or experience of this.

This must be done together, listen to others and take actions that they take because itā€™s no coincidence that other people remain sober.

Iā€™ve gone from every day being soooo long and boring to how am I going to find time to fit everything I want to do in my lifetime.

But just for today Iā€™m not going to pick up and let everything and everyone take care of itself.

Lifeā€™s so much less complicated now Iā€™m not the centre of the universe.

Checking in on day 5 I think without the pills. Yā€™all must have been praying for me because yesterday I woke up feeling ready to reinvent myself! Out with the old, in with the new. I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids and I had completely lost myself and my cup was so empty. Iā€™m going to take care of myself now: Iā€™m on to something new. Iā€™m not going to play the victim. I am glad to be back here, some of the best years of my life were when I was here checking in here. Congrats to @Lucalds for 30 days! And @Mno for 10 years smoke free! :tada: glad to see everyone here healing one day at a time.

Yep,I do remember your final quit date was on your 50th birthday. Iā€™m still one of your biggest cheerleaders my friend and canā€™t thank you enough for helping me through some of the toughest early sobriety days.

Great to hear from you and great to see your still doing well, I would like to say back years ago when we were on here all the time were the good old days but little did I know at the time was things were just going to keep getting better. Impressed you remember my sober day being my birthday but I have to correct you as it was my 49th in the hope I would be a year sober at 50. At my age Iā€™m not sure how many years Iā€™ve got left so I canā€™t afford for you to be taking one off me :joy:
