Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Today I moved into sober living with 3 guys I got clean with which is nice. The wife is freaking out again, probably out of fear, and saying she wants divorce. I’m trying my best to stay focused on me but it’s weighing on me. Part of me wants to say fuck it and keep trying to make it work. Part of me wants to say fuck it and find someone who sees value in me and sees the hope in my life. It’s exhausting. Am I being selfish by clinging on to this marriage? Has too much damage been done? Can God really repair this? Idk. Just had to vent. Love you all

Yes, no, or maybe. Regardless of the answer your focus needs to be sobriety. I tried to juggle saving a relationship and sobriety during my first attempt at sobriety. I ended up drunk and single.

Checking in day :one::two::zero::zero:! Haven’t checked in for a bit, but I’m still here and still sober. Will try to make check ins more regular again. Things have been steady and stable, which is not what I could say 1200 days ago. Chugging along. Latest self care I’ve added is a regular skin care routine over the last few months and I’m loving that. Hope everyone is doing well :sparkles:

Big happenings in our small town area. Road rage, turned into someone pulling a gun and shooting another person in the chest at a local gas station. So unbelievably tragic. A good friend manages the store it happened at….. the victims mom is close with my extended family, worked with my mom for over 30 years, and is a huge veterans advocate… Craziness is all over. Just throw fists…. So many people affected by a very stupid decision.
News crew was at the shopping plaza, right by my car when I was leaving the grocery store. They asked to talk to me, so talk we did and I was on the news tonight. Boyfriend can not find the video online of me, which is good cuz honestly I hate watching myself on video, makes me feel all awkward and shit.

Such a strange day overall. Much love everyone. Hold those you care about close.

@RichardD1013 wish you luck with the move. The early stages of sobriety are filled with so many changes emotionally, mentally and physically. It is best if possible to not make any major changes in life for the first year. It takes our all to focus on our sobriety which should be the first priority..

@MooseTracks lovely to see you posting…yeah to 1200 days!!.

@StacyAnn :cry: such a tragedy. I am so sorry to read this. So very sad. Sending condolences to the families of all those affected by this devastation :people_hugging::folded_hands:t4::people_hugging::folded_hands:t4::heart:

This really resonates with me. I’m very happy to be sober right now, but sometimes I’m so frustrated that I can’t do what so many other people can–just drink normally! But here we are, I guess, and we can all hold (metaphorical) hands and get through it together. ODAAT!

Congratulations on your semester!! You sounded really stressed about some of those last assignments; I’m thrilled for you that your hard work paid off!! Hope you feel better soon so you can celebrate!

I hope by the time you’re seeing this your past some of the stress and have wrestled those f-ing urges into the ground!! I feel like every time I get through one of those days where I would have used alcohol as a crutch I get just a tiny bit stronger…I hope you feel that way, too.

Going well. I will at some point start to read more of the community and respond more. Today it seemed like every noise was like ASMR and grating my ever last nerve.

Went to bed really early last night, so early I was up and ready half an hour before my alarm this morning. Also has to do with all the dreaming I did. I had enough for one night. So not greatly rested now, but not too bad either. One more day of work to go before a three day weekend with will include the solstice yay!

No it’s not spring yet but at least we will be heading towards the light again. One day at a time. I’m going to have as good a day as I possibly can and I hope you will all do the same friends. Sober and clean or nothing will come of it. Pic is another one from my commute & my old neighbourhood. Much love.

@Petr Huge congrats Peter!!! Your presence here one of the constants in my own journey. Thanks so much for sticking around friend.
@MooseTracks Good to see you friend, and big congrats on a nice big round number.
@JasonFisher Big boat, bigger ocean. Stay safe friend :people_hugging:
@Christophe For me being sober opened up the way to working on what happened to me in my childhood, to start untangle all the had tangled up inside. Takes a long long time and lots of work to do so. But it has helped me so much in living my life. Sobriety actually is my main tool to do that work. Success friend.
@Bekah212 Hugs to you friend. Glad you came here. I hope it helped.

Hello everyone!

DAY 112 – check in

I managed to buy all the Christmas presents yesterday in very little time, even though I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for and had to change my plans. I also had some interesting dreams: one involved me studying the behavior of a fox. I was in a classroom watching a video of a fox.

A voiceover explained how the fox prefers to hide in fields where the weeds are tall, so it can catch prey without being as exposed as it would be in an open field. Once the video ended, the fox itself started talking on “camera.” It said I should follow its example: to keep a low profile, avoid exposing myself too much, and keep working and covering myself for now. That way, I’ll catch the prey at the right time without too much effort or risk.

I think this was a very clear message about not forcing any outcomes right now, just keep working and wait for the right opportunity to come. It also felt like where I am now is the right place for me, and my invisibility has somehow been planned to protect myself.

I really believe in animal guidance. I see my cat himself as a spirit guide who shows me a lot and helps me navigate this period with my family.

Today I’m grateful for:

  • Thursday journaling day
  • my diet
  • my daily yoga practice and outdoor activity

Wishing everyone a solid 24 sober hours!
