Checking in daily to maintain focus #88

Thank you for the support :blue_heart:…

And, glad you made it through the festival okay, with a chance to rest up today.

Checking in sober Sunday evening. Not feeling it today. A vague sense of unease. Guess what? It doesn’t matter. We stay sober anyway. This too shall pass. On we go.

I’m so sorry for your loss :mending_heart: you’ve shown incredible strength to remain sober at this time. Take care of yourself :light_blue_heart:

I can see myself in this comment. Quite a few times I’ve been crying in the psychologist/psychiatrist office about how “I’m just making it up / making it worse” or “why can’t I just think positively” or “why can’t I just be like normal people”. Ultimately it takes someone outside my brain to tell me that it’s not “me”. It’s brain chemistry. And that’s what using was trying to modulate. Self medicating all the time. You can’t “think” your way out of things that are beyond your control.

Checking in off the Washington Coast.

Weak signal. Glad I was able to catch up.

Day 2504. Feeling good. Fishing was slow yesterday, better today. Last chance tomorrow.

Hopefully we find them.

Gonna hit the bunk sober. Zzzzz

Day 66 one digit away from the devil :smiling_face_with_horns:

That means I’ve survived/thrived 9 weekends. And quite a few weekdays where my resolve wobbled a little.

I have travel coming up and I’m terrified. Had a few panic attacks in the run up so far. I’ll be going from hardly leaving the house at the moment to travelling thousands of miles and staying in pretty isolated locations. It’s something I used to love doing before and it’s something I still push myself to do even if it is uncomfortable - right through to traumatic  (I actually usually book these things when I’m hypomanic and can’t go back on it once I’m back to baseline). The amount of times I’ve been absolutely wasted in airport lounges and bars is shameful. Drinking alone in bars in unfamiliar places just to feel confident enough to do tourist things then not remembering all of it. Embarrassing.

With each time I travel now I feel I erase a little of the past. :magic_wand: :sparkles:

Love to you all for today and the next 24 :heart_decoration:

My sleep was quite poor this time, but I won’t let it drag me down. I’m gonna make it a positive day. I just drank my morning coffee and now I’m lying in my warm and comfy bed waiting an oatmeal breakfast with other residents. I have today first time a Teams meeting with my new psychologist. I’m quite nervous about it, but I know it’s gonna be just fine. Looking forward to this relaxing day. I wish you all a great and sober 24 hrs!

Göteborgs skärgård (Archipelago of Gothenburg, Sweden :sweden:)

I took a loooooong summer break this year. From basically everything, including TS here.

After being too ill to travel properly last year, I realized this year how important traveling is for me. How life affirming it is to get out into the wider world in the summer here. To enjoy the long days with all the people around.
To get inspired, to see new things.

So I kind of needed to make up for lost time, soak myself in travel, different cultures, languages, family. But now I’m back, back to daily life and also back to TS.

Day #235.

Still here and still sober.

IWNDWYT.

so ready to sleep. My toddler woke me up at 2am fully recharged like he was ready to play. I got eyes poked, ears and hair pulled, nose picked.. Jumped on. Lots of giggles and laughing before he rolled back over and fell asleep again .
