I hate the way cheese is treated in this country. For example, Brie, even half decent Brie, is wrapped in plastic and placed in a faux wood box. Damn, let this awesomeness of dairy perfection breath a little. Baby Swiss… Really??? I have begged for breakfast in France and Dined with slightly wealthy people in Spain, some of my fondest memories are from Sweden and Germany. All of the Dairy is so much better outside of usa. And nearly any kind of cheese you can name that is available here is by far different where it actually originated from.

I agree, american cheese trying to be something its not, should be a crime lol
And which country are you… ah! The USA.
I’ve been to the US 4 times and loved it every time… but! Cheese certainly wasn’t your finest achievement. I can sense your frustration @lee8632. And your cooked meats (at the time) were, well, best not. I’m sure the UK’s not great at - it could be pointed out we were feeding mashed up sheep to cows at one point! That was probably the brainchild of some mad scientist who ended up knighted.
Yeah, don’t get me started on all the other travesties of culinary fauxpaus. If given a choice I would rather beg for food in the EU than be given a handout in the US.
And the winner for “most random thread of the year” goes to…
But we love it!!
…and don’t get me wrong, I love cheese!
I love random AND cheese
I love random cheese!
Mmmmmm - random cheese on toast
We love random rants and I love vegan cheese…
The way I see it, it’s a lot easier to be vegan if you live in the US. If I were in France or Italy, I might be tempted. Not here. The other side is that there’s also a lot of environmental and humanitarian reasons to avoid dairy in this country; anerican cows dont live a happy life, mostly. So, goodbye, Cheese. I miss alcohol more than you, but I’m not going back to either one.
My last comment about cheese, I promise…“Ever wonder why some cheese tastes so much better in Europe? The view of the Eiffel Tower helps, but a lot of the time, it’s because fromage from across the pond is made from unpasteurized milk—milk straight from the animal, unheated before consumption. Europeans use this “raw milk” as the main ingredient to make much of their fresh soft cheeses, a practice forbidden in the US since 1949”…So here, I have my answer as to why US cheese is lacking in flavor. Also, I started reading The Big Book (AA) and it is scaring the crap out of me. Like really scary stuff delving deeper into my own psychology, giving my life to Christ and the possibility, no, realization of Never Drinking Again!..Right now I would be happy to see Day 7. Haven’t been 7 days sober in…27 years…ouch. Hurts to think about it.
I love cheese, I don’t eat meat, stupidly didn’t think about cheese. But watched video called dairy is scary, vegan for me in future…
The only decent cheese in Australia is either imported of from King Island in Tasmania… A little uncultured in that regard no pun intended… lol
I’ve really enjoyed the cheese chat @lee8632, and it’s best to leave ‘cooked meat’ for another day, but!
…what follows the cheese?
Ever read “Who moved my cheese” ? It is about change in the work place, but also has some life lessons.
Seriously. Wtf.
