Cocaine and opiates

Hi I can’t tell if this forum is just for alcohol addiction ? If it is I’m sorry and please let me know.

My name’s Anna. I’ve been taking cocaine for 6 months. I never thought I would be here- I always thought I would stop before I got in too deep. But it just happened so fast. Every month I promise it’s the last time, and every month I cave. I spend all my money on it and I’ve hardly got enough money for food now for the next few weeks.

I’ve been taking strong painkillers for two months and the weeks where I don’t have them feel so uncomfortable that I’m counting down the days till I can buy them again. Then being reckless and using them all up in a few days. Oxy and dihydrocodeine.

It makes me feel happy, and I just want to be happy. I’m also really bored all the time because I don’t work for health reasons. I don’t have anything to do. I will be having surgery in the summer so maybe it could be a turning point in my life.

Welcome Anna. This forum is for anyone who has an addiction they’d like to overcome. You’re in the right place.

My Drug of Choice (DOC) was alcohol, I’ve been sober for more than 7 years, thanks to this place. The best advice I can give is to read, interact and take the advice that’s given; if it works for us, it’ll work for you.

Glad you’re here Anna! TS is for addictions of all kinds, cocaine and opiates included! This is a great place to find support and resources to combat addiction! Sharing this was a great first step towards addressing your addiction and hopefully working toward living a sober life.

Definitely do some reading around the forum, there are lots of threads dedicated to addiction and recovery as well as other subjects like art, music, film, sports, nature, and animals!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need additional support, there are plenty of people here who are willing to listen and provide their experiences :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

Anna, we’re really glad you found us. There are plenty of people here who’ve had experiences like yours, and just by being here you’ve taken the first step! Maybe the second step is finding some things you can do that you enjoy –or that will at least reduce your boredom. I know this sounds silly but I color in a coloring book while I watch TV and I listen to sci-fi and fantasy books while I do chores –just little stuff like that .

Like @Alexh666 said–look around, jump right in–everyone here wants you to succeed!

Welcome to the community! This app is for all addictions alike. A lot of us were or are addicted to more than one thing.

I went through an agressive pill phase. My mom and dad were both addicted to opioids growing up. I was exposed to it really early. It was one of the most painful things to quit. If you ever want withdrawal tips please reach out. The withdrawal sucks so bad….. its traumatic. But for me that was what I needed. I would think about how bad the withdrawal was and told myself “I will never go through that again”.

Even if it’s a mess right now…… stopping will be worth it. I promise.
