@Proudlyunknown85 Hi and welcome to the forum again

How have you managed to be C free for 17 months, which by the way is amazing :clap:t2:?

Have you thought of applying the same strategy to alcohol, and 7 days is great going :clap:t2::clap:t2:

Maybe with alcohol, as it’s not illegal and so readily available, a structured recovery program would help

I’ve said it time and time again about alcohol we can’t do this alone we need help.
I got that help, in 2004, through AA, but these days there are many more flavours and online meetings :scream:

You’re doing great, keep on keeping on :black_heart:

Congrats on 17 months free from cocaine. Cross addiction is common. Im sorry youre dealing with alcohol addiction. Its so hard when its so widely accepted. Firstly HUGE congrats on your 1st week free from alcohol. It wont always be this tough to abstain if you put in place good supports and coping skills.

I highly recommend annie graces 30 day experiment. Google it. Its free and so informative about alcohols effects and how its addicting. It made me rethink my toxic relationship with booze

This place works if you work it. Come here daily, share, read, and grow in your sobriety!

Rooting for you!!

Nice work! This is a great place for support and for recovery in general have you checked out meetings?

I know what you’re talking about I replaced the heroin addiction with meth in the past before I got clean.

I’m coming up on 7 years clean and the 12 steps and going to meetings is what made the difference and the Higher Power’s help

Welcome back to the forum! Congratulations on 17 months free of cocaine! As well as ur 1 week free of alcohol! I can relate to ur post when it comes to switching addictions. In the past, i have replaced one drug with another, only to end up with another problem. I was still trying to fill that “void” within me. It wasnt until i became fully clean and sober, that I really saw the true benefits of recovery. I know now that when i put any amount of a substance into my body, I release my addiction all over again. Truly the easiest way is to just not use anything at all

I hope to see u around more! Stay close to ur supports and check in often

Thank u :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: And about those 17 months, it took one day at a time :raising_hands:t5: at first it wasn’t easy but I was up for this incredible job making 35 dollars an hour as an operator in a chemical plant which was more than enough motivation to quit indefinitely :money_mouth_face:and once I landed the job :flexed_biceps:t5: the cocaine was history and I’ve been in the good foot ever since. But I think I have been filling that void with alcohol :downcast_face_with_sweat:and from here I need help :sob:
