I was at those shows. I fainted while waiting in line for beer/water/snacks in between sets. That is what my husband tells me anyway. My memory is not too good anymore…

Couple great set lists there… that and the kids would pay crazy money for that tee these days. lol

I remember the exact show where the alcoholism became more important that the show. Sure booze was always important… But that show. I needed just one more drink to get me in the groove. Except I couldn’t find that one drink and just kept pounding. After the show, while heading to get a ride home, I got distracted by a neon sign and found myself in an illegal hispanic dance hall and no one looked too pleased that this guy walked in and up to the bar.

One of the most unexpected gifts in sobriety was how concerts changed. No more trying to make sure I had an easy out to go grab more drinks or hit the men’s room during the first set b/c of pregaming. No wondering if I was going to lose my spot if I went for a booze run during intermission or figuring what songs I would definitely skip to get more booze.

The energy that was wasted and the music that was missed…

Oh man thats classic. Did you hang out and bust jigs? Shows def take a different shape when sober. I like being able to drive w/o worry after the show and remembering where my car is.
