I am working on a plan to create a thread where we can express ourselves and share information…a thread which will then become private (and we can add others to).
Then the forum can focus on its prime directive of sobriety, support and community and we can have a space to share information, resources and action points…as well as feelings.
Edited to add…am moving posts.

This is such a hot topic and it is in the news right now because of political decisions taking place in the US. Ergo it is political.
Please remember that moderators act in line with the rules of the forum on this. We all have our opinions too. World events are often unsettling but this is not the place to discuss world events.
Personal and political is such a difficult one. But as has been said we are here for sobriety. If that happens to include pregnancy options for an individual, let’s discuss it for that individual.
At this point though the conversation is about political decisions in the US and our opinions on it. So let’s refocus back to the purpose of the forum which is how we navigate this crazy world sober and how we can support each other with our experience

My insurance / pension company, with whom I was on hold for 1 hour this morning, for a question that when I got through to them, took 2 minutes to resolve.
The thing that made it so frustrating was that stupid message that came on every few minutes saying “Your call is important to us. Please stay on the line and a representative will be with your shortly.”
Don’t lie to me like that. I know what it’s like when my call matters to you. I get service. I got way better service today from the Canada Revenue Agency - who handles a lot more money than you guys do - and I was connected with their representative immediately, no hold required.
My call doesn’t matter to you, insurance company. If it did, I wouldn’t be on hold for 1 hour.

Me and Ms. Monkey are camping…her sister and boyfriend have arrived.
On a normal visit, it takes everything to bite my tounge and be nice.
Out of the car he comes…wearing a Vietnam Veteran ball cap.
Not only did he not serve in Vietnam, nor any war, nor any service.
I get being patriotic. I get supporting our troops. However, and it’s a big however, find a ball cap that doesnt have “VETERAN” emblazoned on it.
That also states “Proudly served”

I remember I embarrassed a guy at a bar once who was claiming to be a Vietnam vet.
He’s clamoring on and I said wait a minute Rob. Your 10 years older than me, so you were born in 72, the year the US involvement in Vietnam pretty much ended. So how did you fight in a war that ended while you were still in the cradle.
He stormed out of there pretty fast

Omg this sounds frustrating lol I hate it when the robot also says… “we are experiencing higher than normally call volumes”. And the company I’m calling is generally not a company that requires a long wait AND I’m calling shortly after they open. I am glad u got ur issue sorted tho. But ur post made me laugh bcuz I can relate to this ALL too often lol

thank you Scott. you’re kind to say that. I did sth out of my comfort zone, something selfish, and I guess my whatever, mind or soul, is backlashing. I expected it too, but it still feels bad. I’ll be ok. it’ll pass.
but getting an anxiety migraine over something actually positve can still FRO.
