Cravings for weed

Woke up this morning craving weed. HELP

Craving does not equal caving D. You got yourself a toolbox with stuff that helps you in moments of need like this? Like stuff to distract yourself with? @SoberWalker has an excellent one, if you search around a bit here you’ll find it. It’s good you’re here asking for help, tells me you don’t want to give in. Stay with us. Read. Discuss. Don’t give in!

This is the list @Mno is reffering at:

  • No alcohol in my house
  • Refrigerator filled with nice food and alc. free drinks
  • Telling my spouse about my sober plan
  • Avoid alcohol related activities and friends (at least in the beginning)
  • Having a day counter
  • Avoid wine/beer section in the supermarket and avoid liquor store
  • Taking a strong vitamine B complex
  • Taking melatonin to help me sleep
  • Be gentle to myself, like go to bed early, taking a long bath, etc.
  • Doing relaxing activaties like meditate, yoga, walking, etc.
  • When I have cravings: I don’t pick up that first one but I walk, run, work out, eat chocolat, watch Netflix, clean, study, whatever.
  • Ask for help when I need it.
  • Be here every day to read and check in sober.

This is my vice and im 8 days in. I eat instead, clean, walk, read, nap, cook, or chill with non smokers. It helps to distract some and the urge will shake.

Writing a list is such a great help - gives you a go to during those hard times where you’re craving. You can also write a note to yourself, or post on here your WHY too, why do you choose to be sober/free from weed…? What positives will being a healthy non-smoker bring into your life? Is there anyone you can call, text or visit to talk to in times of need, even just for distraction?
Do you like to run, going for a short run rather than giving in to your addiction is a great feeling of success and a step in a healthy and uplifting direction : ) you can do this, stay true, stay strong and I wish you well. Kindest regards :pray:
