Cucumber Lemonade

I am on Day 3 of no alcohol. I started off today feeling pretty irritable, tired, and overwhelmed with what I planned on accomplishing. I quickly realized my day was not going to go as planned and decided not to fight against it. I wasn’t getting my regular work accomplished, so instead I finally cleared my garden plot of an extreme overgrowth of weeds and came home and drank a big glass of cucumber lemonade. Making special beverages really helps me to not drink alcohol, so I wanted to share the recipe!

It’s so simple. Just make a lemonade base – I did lemon juice with water and a little honey dissolved in it. You can also use regular sugar and make it as sweet as you want. Then I sliced up half a lemon and added that to the mix. Next, thinly slice up half a cucumber (or full one if you really want the extra flavor), add the slices, and let the batch sit in the fridge for at least a few hours so all the flavors can meld together. It will take a little while for the cucumber to really infuse the lemonade. Serve over ice. Add seltzer or put it through a carbonation machine if you want bubbles. It’s perfect for summer and brings me joy :yum:

alternatively for people with less culinary skills buy a bottle of lemonade and drill a hole length ways through a cucumber and use it as a straw. it’s environmentally better than plastic and you can have a vegetarian hot dog after, just serve the cucumber in a freshly baked baguette.
Don’t mention it your more than welcome.
