Daily fitness check in šŸ’Ŗ (Part 1)

Thanks D!

I have a similar organization to you when I do my muscle groups. However I haven’t been great about dedicating a specific day to each one. Given my schedule and my old body I don’t really have great discipline. I will just flake and do what feels right/good.

I was also asking if anyone does like 10 weeks on program and a few weeks off program to allow for muscles to bulk…or whatever the terminology is…

I was wondering where you were at on this thread. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I unfortunately do not have any helpful reading material. I only have my own structure that works for me and is backed by me (not sure if science backs it).

Because I don’t exercise at a traditional gym and instead do CrossFit, I structure my rest days by intensity of the workouts. So essentially I go by the ā€œlisten to your bodyā€ method, lol. I sometimes can go 4 days, then rest. Other times (when my work schedule gets a bit crazy), I can go 6 days, then rest like I did this week (today will be my second rest day back to back but I’m back at the gym tomorrow). Again, it depends on the intensity.

For example, this past week, some workouts weren’t intense which is why I was able to push 6 days straight. There have been times where there were an insane amount of high intensity workouts, so what I did is that I didnt push myself and went light on weight until I can make it to rest day.

Before any comps., that week I ensure to take at least two rest days. And depending how I feel day of determines if I will go light or hard on workouts. And I absolutely rest the day after a comp.

I know you didn’t ask for the above information but figured I’d share and maybe some of it will give you some ideas. :slightly_smiling_face:

I was doing so much adventuring that I sorta fell off on my fitness routine. I was covering miles doing wilderness trips and eating a ridiculous amount of calories to offset the work I was putting in.

I have difficulty readjusting back to the usual routine.

You’re my hero, Sonia! I don’t have a crossfit gym in my area but I do admire the format. Having some buddies to keep one accountable sounds great too. I appreciate that you listen to your body too. That feels right for me as I am not trying to win Mr. Universe or anything…

Hope you feel better! :two_hearts: I’m sure it still felt good to move. I was feeling the side effects of the birth control I’m on now. Felt nauseous and had a headache. I still went to the gym and sweat it all out.

Just wanted to share my numbers. :face_with_steam_from_nose: For the past seven months, I have burned over 6,000 calories per month. For five of those seven months, I burned over 8,000 calories per month! :star_struck:

Thanks, girl! My body just needs time to adjust to the BC since I’ve never been on it. :slightly_smiling_face:

I live way up in NE Minnesota. Like the pointy part above Lake Superior. We have the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) on the border between the US and Canada not far from where my home is. It’s a bunch of lakes and rivers and forests that are federally protected and no motors are allowed.

I took a week long trip with friends at the end of August. Then took my 10yr old son on his first father son trip for a three day weekend in mid September. It’s hard work because you gotta paddle and portage whatever you need to survive but it’s about as unplugged as you can get.

I did get to the gym for a short back and triceps workout.

I’ve also hit over 10,000 steps every day this week.

Feel like I’m slowly getting back on the horse. Looking in the mirror today I was feeling better about what I was seeing. Also getting better about tracking my calorie intake once again. I feel like I’ll be under 160lbs in a week if I keep on track.

Sounds so much fun!

I just know that air and water is so clean with those protected regulations. :sob::heart: A few years ago, an ex and I went to my Pittsburgh friend’s property up in Wisconsin (where he’s originally from). They also had the same regulations for the lake in that area.

I use the MyZone chest strap heart rate monitor during my workouts. Pretty sure you can get any brand of chest strap. Of course, every device will have a margin of error but I’ve read online that chest straps are more accurate than the watches. :slightly_smiling_face:

I just looked the one I have up and I don’t remember paying that much. Must be inflation. It was the one recommended to me by the gym I was going to at that time. I’m sure any brand will suffice though. :slightly_smiling_face:
