So i got a gift card for Supplement King from my husband for my birthday and I have been trying to figure out what to get.
I am definitly getting a new preworkout but what is everyones thoughts on Creatine? Im also going to get some Essential Greens and Collagen (with biotin and vitamin c)
I have never taken Creatine but i heard good things about it.

Only thing I could really add from a user stance is protein powder with whey immediately after workout. Gets needed protein to your muscles immediately and typically we’re not getting as much protein as we should.
That and vitamin D3
I hear creatine helps fuel a workout but also could add to weight
 dunno, never have taken.

I think creatine is good if your able to take it. In 2020, during covid, I found out that I have a rate kodney disease to where I cant consume a certain amount of potassium or sodium. With that creatine was a thing I had rid myself of as well. It has many benefits though, so I say try it out.

Yessir, protein in general is a plus and you’re right most people are low on protein intake. It’s not that we as a society under eat, especially with our big portions, but the quality of foods we choose sometimes arent nutrient dense. If you can, rely on the majority of your protein from meat sources. Powder protein should be used supplemental for post workout or a meal replacement in a pinch, when feasible.

The good rule of thumb, for starters, in regard to protein that I’ve researched is to consume 1 gram of protein for the ideal weight that you want to weigh. So, if youre at 200lbs and want to maintain that general weight range, consume 200 grams daily. If you’re 185 lbs but looking to reduce fat and get down to 165, consume 165 grams daily, making sure that your caloric deficit is in range too.

@Butterflymoonwoman a good reource to determine your daily macros (protein, fat, carbs) is https://iifym.com/ using the calculate that they provide. It incorporates all of your fitness goals, your work schedule, eating and so on. I hope this helps as well.

I havd heard that too about creatine. But from what i read its only water weight. I dont mind a few extra lbs if its only water lol And yes to the protein! I do drink a protein shake shortly after my workout (most of the time). I definitly have to increase it tho. Have been slacking on getting enough  What does D3 do exactly?

What do all these supplments do exactly? Im just trying to learn more about what may be good to take

Yes, i havent had Glucosamine in a while but I could that l I was needing it. I’ll be using that, the magnesium and Gaba at night time for calming, sleep, and inflammation

Cod liver oil is just a fish oil supplement. I dont eat fish or anything from the ocean lol but I know the benefits that they provide, so this is my supplemention to combat that and still get the benefits.

I have been doing a lot of reading and research on mushroom and its benefits as well. The first kind I tried was a blend of mushrooms and matcha tea and I liked it a lot. The second time was liquid extracts of specific mushrooms. This is my first time using a capsule form. I’m taking it to help with cognitive brain function, immunity, energy and anti-inflammatory purposes.

Dhea helps with energy levels and testosterone, bone health and density, and immunity

Thats too funny, I was writing about them before even seeing that you inquired about them.

I can see how that could prove to be frustrating. You’re just getting started again so that gives you something to work toward. Before long you’ll be running faster than your previous marks. Enjoy the chase @Mischa84! :muscle:t5:

If you still have gift card $ left, Glutamine would be a good post workout supplement to include for you. It helps manage muscle protein breakdown, with repair, recovery and soreness.

Sounds good. If you have some freetime during your evening and if they have a website, try scouting out products you’re interested in, the servings sizes and prices
