Daily fitness check in šŸ’Ŗ (Part 2)

17/02/2026

I had to stop the strength training, did not have too much energy. Instead I walked a lot on the treadmill… and did 3 intense nice rounds of Sauna.

Anyway, activity minutes on amazing level for a Tuesday.

Office day and still made it to a solid swim around 2000 meters. Shared the lane with a younger very professional swimmer, which was fun pushing each other. :woman_swimming:t3: :woman_swimming:t4:

Also I animated 10 colleagues to do a 20 minute walk during lunch break. :person_walking: :woman_walking:t4: :person_walking:t6:

It was fun and they were happy.

Did a quick kettlebell workout while the kids were training. The the youngest had a class but not the eldest. So me and the eldest daughter did a cool thing, we jumped on the assault bikes and had an earphone each. When the chorus of whatever song came on we rode hard till it was back to the verse, then just went easy till the next chorus. Was fun and a good workout to share with her

Lesmills body balance class :woman_in_lotus_position:t2:

Despite of the drama my mum created again, I joined the class. I feel stronger and like a mountain now. But also sad.

Gym has been closed the last couple of days due to weather. I moved a ridiculous amount of snow though so maybe it’ll balance out…

Thursday:
Morning routine (yoga, plank, pushups).
Other than that, rest.
Tomorrow I would normally go to the pool, swim a bit and have nice sauna sessions but my kids have a spring break so I’m grounded :frowning: Pity, I could really use that sauna.

I am really missing my workouts lately. Since having 2 diff colds over the course of 3 weeks i have barely exercised. Trying my best to focus on diet tho at the very least. I just really miss the gym

Did you know Les Mills started in my home city, Auckland, and is now a world wide thing? He was even the Mayor of our city when I was a kid. It started as single gym (and still is ) but is now a franchise of gyms all over the place

Ahwww…. That’s cool!

I knew it is a worldwide thing as @Tragicfarinelli also knew it and I did not of a research about the program. How cool that the roots are round your corner.

That’s cool, I didn’t know that either! I used to be a big Les Mills workouts (attack, body pump, balance) diehard fan in my pre-kids era  We moved and now there is no gym with Les Mills workouts in the neighbourhood unfortunately.

My body is still so sore after Hyrox on Wednesday  I love it

I know this because when they ordered our new specific Les Mills weights at the gym we all had to wait for at least six weeks to receive the delivery. It’s a great programme… They also have added extra programmes lately like Body Pump HEAVY.

Tired. Big cardio week, might need a rest day tomorrow.

Sunday - bootcamp
Monday - spin
Tuesday - spin
Wednesday rest
Thursday - spin
Friday - bootcamp

I have a spin booked for tomorrow as well as a body balance class. Not sure I have the legs left for spin, I’m feeling tired already

We will see, I’ll most likely end up doing it still and closing the week off with my normal Sunday bootcamp.

He was an Olympic athlete for NZ in the 1960s, I thought it was for weightlifting but I guess I got confused by the fact he started the gyms, he was actually a shot put and discus thrower.

I remember doing a pump class 20yrs ago as a big strong young guy and got humbled pretty quickly hahaha

Awesome. I have done a few daily burpee challenges. More than physical its a mental battle of discipline, doing it daily once the monotony sets in haha

Ran 3 miles on my lunch break. Didn’t get to the gym this week to lift. I’m Ok with it but need to get back to the routine.

Got that swim in.

It was brilliant.

3rd week in a row I reached my activity minutes goal. 315 minute. 6h15 of activities.

Tomorrow I will rest, having a mindfulness/body therapy day. A little walk and body excercises with therapeutic effect are included.

Next week I will stay near the company. Looking forward to some distance. Staying there I will focus on swimming as there is a pool that is free 7 minutes away from where I stay.
