Welcome to the fitness thread @SK213! You appear pretty advanced for someone who is just getting back into it. ![]()
Skull Crushers are my last exercise for Day 3 in my current program. 1st rep of the last set is always scary with the thought of that dumbell literally crushing your skull when you’re feeling fatigued.
Heck yeah…I haven’t done in forever cause I’m still shook from when I almost came close to a major accident and it wasn’t even at the point of fatigue.
Be safe and enjoy them workouts ![]()
Thanks, I wish that was the case. To me it’s easier than the weight machine. I did the weights the day before and it tired me out too much for the rest of the day. But today is weights day, tomorrow will be Yoga at home on the TV.
Nov 27-
Light leg day and 20min recumbent bike. Im just glad I showed up and did SOMETHING today ![]()
Today I did five sets of hip thrusts then I did landmine rows with the v bar five sets then I did four sets of shoulder overhead press machine.
In between sets I went over to the elliptical and went backwards for a minute to incorporate some cardio without having to set aside time for it
I also did some crunches and some back extensions
Looking back it’s crazy how much I used to do compared to what I’m capable of now after having a major infection this summer
What can you control? ![]()
This wasn’t a drop of snow at this time yesterday. This was my workout, that snow is so heavy! Ps. It’s snowing until Sunday night so I’ve got my workout plan for the next few days… ![]()
11/27/25
2.5 mile walk in walk pad 6% incline and 3.8 speed
100 min swim
15500 steps
Ive been stuck in sloth mode the past couple of days but proud to announce i made it to the gym this morning for a 90min workout! Cant just wait for motivation
I’ve now begun introducing deload time. I’ve been going so hard for so long I think I’m burning myself out.
I absolutely love strength training and have been making great gains in overall strength, endurance and recomposition, but feel I may be losing in the long term battle of if I don’t find a balance.
My sleep has become a little less recovery and more of just trying to maintain 7 hours. I think my body has begun waving a flag that I’m pushing it too much and too long. Averaging over 230 vigorous and 210 moderate minutes per week for the entirety of the year and having very few lower weeks (even my blue weeks are still averaging 300+ minutes per week) means I need to learn taking planned breaks are a requirement and something I also need to master (without the accompanying guilt of taking some time off).
So three workouts earlier this week will have me break. Next week I will do some much lower intensity workouts then I will focus the remainder of Dec as lower weights, a bit higher reps for more a maintenance pump.
Then I’ll design Jan to start back in again and have planned deload weeks and lighter weeks sprinkled in. Build a program that can stand for time.
Enjoy your training folks.
Way to get out of that mode and get in a epic workout today ![]()
That is an awesome plan friend. I am glad you did get your butt in motion for so long and so intensely. Really impressive. Glad you are thinking of balancing your workouts so that they can keep you going long term.
