It looks like the miracles/promises of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous is working in your life. @Jennajen Keep up the good work my friend, stay focused and determine, be proud of yourself because we are all proud of you. Continue to be an inspiration to the newcomer. No matter how many days we have clean and sober, we always have a chance/choice to inspire someone especially when we allow the hand of Alcoholics Anonymous to do the reaching out. Thank you for your post Jenna, it really touched home for me. May peace and serenity be your guide on your journey in sobriety.

Good morning Jenna, you should check out the posts “recovery quote of the day” it’s my take on things and “just for today in narcotics anonymous” is straight out of the book. A lot of good reading there that will answer many questions in your life.

I’m grateful for that little switch that we have no control over bc when it turns on its a whole new ball game. Those that know know exactly what I’m talking about, the fighting it ends and the living begins. That’s not a pink cloud moment that’s how I have felt every second from my last slip. I’m also grateful to have the experience to know how quickly this can change bc in the past I would believe I’m suddenly cured and can stop whenever I want but my feet are firmly on the ground. I’ve got an illness that I will never cure but if I keep taking my medicine (AA, friendship, sharing and caring) I can manage my illness on a daily basis.

I’m grateful for another sober hangover free morning.
Grateful for my health.
The ability and desire to exercise.
Grateful I’m not cooking today.
Grateful for the view out my windows of all the ponderosa pines.
Grateful for my big deck out back where we spend countless numbers of days while trying to be safer at home.
Grateful for the Ravens and Steller Jays and the little birds and funny looking squirrels that hang out around the deck and entertain us.
My dogs and cats.
Grateful we made the decision to cancel wifey’s surgery in Santa Monica and ride out Rona here in Flagstaff. So now we know where we will be for the foreseeable future until we smartin up over here and get some kind of control over this pandemic. Or at least get a vaccination.
Grateful for where we live in Flagstaff, AZ.
Grateful my kids are doing well.

I’m grateful to be clean and sober this morning.

I’ve really been struggling too @Frandango to come up with what I’m grateful for. I sit here and ponder and think “I would be grateful if”… I am sick and tired and depressed of what is happening in USA and Rona. And to tell y’all the truth I struggle every single morning with this gratitude list. I almost think it’s phony. Yet it does help. The longer it takes me the less news I read and the less I’m on Twitter. So I’m terribly grateful for this list and all you people that post on it.
I’m terribly grateful I’m not drinking.
I’m terribly grateful I’m sober.
Grateful for my cats and dogs and wifey and grown up children and their spouses and our houses and homes and food and flavored fizzy waters and online shopping.
I’m grateful my friend in London who went out last week and got really sic wrote me this am and said she doesn’t have Covid-19. She’s gone 70 so I was really worried about her.
Grateful for the blessings I have that I don’t deserve.
Love you guys.

Today I am grateful for:

  • my new friend @Jennajen and the fantastic support and advice she has given me over the past 24 hours. Thank you for going out of your way to help me. You have kept me sober.
  • for my lovely friend @Dazercat for continuing to post here even when he’s not feeling it. I want to say how much I really look forward to reading hour posts, and hearing about your cats and dogs. It was your posts that really inspired me to join the thread, and I will always thank you for that. I’m glad your friend is OK, and I’m so sorry about all the troubles in the USA. I just hope you and your family stay safe.
  • I am also grateful for @Lilemm and your kindness and support. I remember that you were one of the first people to reply to me when I first joined TS, and it made me feel like I was in the right place. Thank you.
  • I am also grateful for still being sober, against the odds!
  • learning about the importance of being kind to yourself
  • this forum
  • God and my second chance at life
  • anyone who has enough patience and time to read all of this post! :joy:
  • cats that don’t know how to sleep in boxes and break them with their big furry bottoms!
    Love to you all :hugs::pray::hugs::pray:

Thanks for the mention and the lift Fran.
We needed it this morning.

Love your furry box guy. What’s his name? Forgive me if you already told me and I’ve forgotten.

Wish I could just trade cat pics all day. And I could. But here is our boxiest cat Daisy. The thing about the box she is in though, is that we actually bought😱 that box for her🤪 we know any box will do but this box has a plastic comb curved in to the right side they can scratch on. She loves it. Always gets in there after a meal to wash up. And I mean Always. She likes a good tunnel too. And I’m a tad embarrassed to say this isn’t the first one we bought for her.

Oh @Dazercat, you have really made my day with your cat pictures! I too could sit here and trade pictures all day long with you!
I love that first one - brilliant timing! :joy:
My cat is Kruger, but his full name is Captain Kruger of the Starship Fluffy Bottom (sorry, I’m just a bit daft like that).
I’ve never heard of a box with a comb in it. What a genius idea!! I’m going to have to google that. Daisy certainly likes it.
I guess it’s morning where you are now? I think where you live seems so idyllic, I imagine lots of space and trees and few humans - bliss!
A few select humans are ok of course, but on the whole I think they should be avoided if possible :joy: xx
