Today I’m grateful I’m sober. I’m grateful for my parents and that they will be coming to visit my house and make Bierocks. I’m grateful for the upbringing they gave us, and for them working so hard to teach us right from wrong. I got some bad news from my Dad yesterday- cancer has returned and we are currently awaiting biopsies and such. I’m grateful that the oncologist feels very hopeful that there is a very good medication to give him. I’m grateful that my Dad has a positive outlook and fighting spirit. I’m grateful I’m not drinking and that I am praying again.
Grateful for TS.

I’m grateful for the smile that pets put on my face. Even the Gratidudes’ pets!
I’m grateful for this quiet morning - first the calm silence (whether prayer or meditation, but to sit in silence and give thanks for the day, just accept the gifts of grace and love) - and then of course it’s CBC, my coffee, journal, and gratitude list.
I’m grateful for the day ahead of me - and that I don’t think twice about spending a weekend day sober, now that I think about it. Sober puttering. Sober self-care Sunday.
Delicious pastimes. 
I’m grateful for warm clothing. Just may strike out on my trails today - quickly!

Hey Sunflower - no real words for how to get through this, other than keep doing what you’re already doing. Just wanted you to know I’m sending strength and hope and keeping you and your fam in my prayers.

Forgot to put in my thoughts thread but I am grateful for my ongoing recovery which makes me humble (but saying so makes me feel superior and arrogant) towards everybody’s history. Grateful that when I am judging and be judgmental I often feel that this is wrong. Grateful to know that I am good with that that I cannot know better than anyone else. Grateful to not give advices unasked (at least I hope). Grateful for the 12 steps in that way that it taught me to only talk about me and what helped me. Using I and me instead of one or man. I am not a big fan of the 12 steps but I fell over a book in my appartement. The gentle path through the 12 steps.
Grateful that I have impulses. I don’t like to be pushed but I often have impulses that keep me doing things eg 11 boxes packed.

Anyways, Bierocks are sort of like an empanada or a calzone I guess is the best comparison. It is dough rolled out and filled with cabbage, onion, ground beef, and spices and then baked. We eat them with mustard. I have no idea where they come from but my family has always made them. It’s kind of a process so it’s something fun to do with my mom and sister.

They sound delicious. I saw the Bierocks thing this morning but it was too early and I just let it go over my head. I thought it was some kind of science project with rocks.
Is everyone on here Canadian??? Are you in Canada to Sunflower.
And yes when you make your Bierocks send a pic if you’re willing. I think it’s @M-be-free49 that really wants the pic and charging me for it. I do like a good pic. They sound like a nice stuffed cabbage in a pastry dough

Oh. I’m grateful we’re all sober. I’ll be trying my first spatchcock chicken @Salty @RosaCanDo today. Wish me luck. Hopefully I can make a chicken soup with the carcass. We’re going to be snowed in for a few days it looks like.
Grateful to be able to be all stocked up while we are snowed in.

And nope, I’m very far from Canada- I live in tucson Arizona! But we moved a lot growing up and always picked up new things. My mom told me that this recipe came from a German neighbor when we lived in Kansas.
