Today I’m very thankful for:

Free opportunities for hanging out around a campfire, cooking food over an open flame, and live music in a community that embraces art and folky crafts. Simple joys.

A great morning walk with the dog and the grouse drumming while my son rode his bike alongside us.

The cool opportunities for networking I have coming up in about a week.

Feeling secure enough in myself to look forward to things I used to write off as lame or a waste of time because I was too busy chasing a high.

Beginning to see each day as a wonder instead of being wrapped up in fear, worry and dread. At least most days….

Making my son grumble from my dad jokes.

Grateful I spent time with my Mom yesterday. It was a better way for her to walk into a diagnosis of retinapothy. I went galivanting around the internet to find her healthiest ways to keep it at bay.
Grateful that I had more stress-free moments driving around and waiting for our breakfast time.
Grateful I know that missing my former life doesn’t help me to get anywhere.
Grateful for my thrift store mugs. I am pretty sure they find me, not the other way around.
Grateful for all the alcohol-free people here and elsewhere that build a community and help in a huge way.

Grateful for you and this thread.

Just going to add, my dogs cowered into the wall when I yelled. Grateful they are not used to me ever doing that. Nine years of their lives and I have currently yelled at them ONCE. (Will not ever again - poor puppers).

Today I am grateful for:

An amazing, restorative, long nap

Surviving a trip to Rural King where I was made very aware that “my kind” are not welcome there anymore… :grimacing: (I got a free hat though!)

Having the luxury and privilege to say:  I’ve eaten too much!

Peel-off masks

My cats, one of which who actually likes me and acts like an ESA…and the other one who is a bully for wet food but is a precious snugglebug so it’s tolerated.

Memes that make me burst out laughing, and then giggle throughout the day when I think of them.

Beautiful weather that makes me say: O Lord, thank you for such a gift as this.

A cup of tea that was a warm hug.

Potato chips.

I could handle one…

The store was very unwelcoming.

Literally every :clap:t2: single :clap:t2: family :clap:t2: hide their children from me.

:clap:t2: I’m :clap:t2: not :clap:t2: joking :clap:t2:

One little girl said: he died his hair red, over and over.

I thought… it’s actually magenta but I’ll forgive you.

The horrifying thing was the parents literally stepped in front of the cart (buggy) to block her view and hushed her up like I was a roaming lion! :clap:t2: I’m :clap:t2: not :clap:t2: joking! :clap:t2:

One old guy was like: hey pink hair!

And I thought: it’s actually magenta and that’s unforgivable that your grown ass doesn’t know that, you fucking rube.

I wish it was only one!

The best part?

I recognized 3 of these upstanding, married, Christian men from Grindr.

I guess we all need a scapegoat and I’m sparkling enough to be the obvious choice. :goat: :fire:

A lovely long bank holiday weekend :ok_hand:

Living in the countryside :heart_hands:t3:

Peace and tranquility :folded_hands:

A lovely Saturday evening with a special person

Coffee :hot_beverage:

Food in my cupboards and fridge :shallow_pan_of_food:

Selfcare :two_hearts:

My recovery, always

I am grateful to be sober.
I am grateful for our health care system. I was overwhelmed by my emotions listening to stories about people in the US dieing because they cannot afford their insulin. It’s a shame.
I am grateful I went out on this wonderful hike today. I really enjoyed it.
I am glad I was out of podcasts and ended up listening to: nothing but the forest.
I am grateful for a warm shower.
I am grateful I have enough.

Need to take a moment to be grateful today.
I am grateful I know that gratitude is important, regardless if a day is tougher than you thought, acknowledging these things help you and others recognize the good things in life.
Today I am breathing and as far as I know, physically healthy-ish. No sense of smell doesn’t take all the rest.
Grateful for the sun that was shining all day and will tomorrow too.
Grateful that my puppers are healthy. They need a lot when they pick up my stress and anxiety, they usually do and today was one of those. Aside from their maniacal moodiness - healthy, healthy babies.
Eating and a roof over my head. I acknowledge that many people have way worse and I am grateful that for most of my life I barely even personally thought about it. Though I try not to extend gratitude to the past, I am grateful that I believed in spreading help all over the place to people in need - financially, emotionally, and physically.
Grateful for you and super grateful I stopped by this thread today.

I’m grateful for catlove and dogsnuggles.
I’m grateful for busy mornings.
I’m grateful for modern ways of communication
I’m grateful for tea :folded_hands:
I’m grateful for living at my pace
I’m grateful for freedom and peace, my reclusive life, feeling safe & secure, reliable people & things, a good life in the slow lane.
I’m grateful that my life is filled with love, joy, happiness and abundance. It makes feeling lonely bearable in an ok-ish way.
I’m grateful I can do as I please, I give my best every day, I try to find a balance daily and accept my limits.
I’m grateful I keep going.
