Good morning friends. Today is 399 days sober for me. Love the milestones but love just being sober. I thought about you all while I was away on my golf trip with friends. There was booze and beer all around me, but I never felt tempted. I frequently thought, āwhat would I tell my ādaily greetingā friends?ā You kept me strong.
There was an āincidentā in which the server at dinner mistakenly brought me a drink with alcohol in it. I took a sip and immediately knew. A couple of my friends tried it and said they couldnāt taste alcohol in itā¦ but they had been drinking for 10 hours. After realizing her mistake, she came back in a panic and apologized. But I must sayā¦ it tasted like SHIT! I used to think I liked the taste of alcohol. It was pretty gross. Only reaffirms my decision to never, ever drink again!

Love that. Happy that your trip went well 
You know, I donāt take even one drop of a tincture made in alcohol. Iām maybe a little over sensitive with this. Could be drunk for the amount of hand sanitizer I use tens of times daily.

Iāve got some medical wipes from my wifeās work. When I use them the smell is awful. Really really strong!

Sounds like the sort of thing I would have done. I drank some shit by my standards. I didnāt get as far as some though. Thank the gods.

Yes I did. I usually didnāt have any hangover and could drink loads but this time I was really sick for one day

I have to avoid flues etc right now. Otherwise I donāt use the hand desinfect so often

I made ribs the other day and used a bourbon based bbq sauce. No alcohol content, but the after taste was exactly that of whiskey breath the morning after a big night. Iām happy to say It wasnt at all enjoyableā¦on the ribs it wasnt noticable, only when I sampled itā¦

@BillS Glad you navigated that well! It does sound like it would be gross. I know hand sanitizer smells strong and gross to me now, and it never bothered me before.

@funnydad Never thought about sauce! But yeah now that you mention it, Iāve seen bourbon, whiskey, and beer flavouring in barbecue sauce. And vodka sauce for pasta! 
That one I really donāt getā¦ ethanol flavoured? (However, Iāve bought that from the grocery store beforeā¦ no alcohol-related ingredients in it, and the taste was cheesy and has no hint or anything to do with vodka, so Iām confusedā¦ )
