Daily meditation

Hi friends, does anyone practice daily meditation?..mindfulness? or some other similar routine? Im searching for something to fit into my daily routine…would appreciate any suggestions or how you find this? Have a great day

I love to meditate. There so many to choose from on YouTube from 10 minute morning meditations to two hour nighttime ones to put you to sleep. My favorite ones are from Lena Grace. Her voice is so soothing. I put on my headphones and drift off to sleep and feel so refreshed the next morning. I was drinking to forget but realized I have to quit to have gratitude for what I have.

There are many apps available for this, some free, some paid. I use Simple Habit, started with the free version. It has 5 minute guided meditations. There are longer ones too, including sleep induction sessions.

I’ve been practicing meditation daily for about 2 years. It hasn’t hurt me so far,and there are days it seems to help. It reinforces a kinder more optimistic outlook on my world, if nothing else. On occasion, it gets real trippy and I can have an out of body connection to my higher power.

May there be blessings on your house.

I do reiki and meditations at night before I go to bed. It helps me wind down for bed and clear my mind as well as assisting in healing myself at the end of the day. Sometimes I do guided meditations, sometimes I just listen to nature sounds and do my own thing. I keep trying new things every day.

Thank you all for those great suggestions. I need daily anchors to keep me on this path. This forum is fantastic… ive started running every morning and picked up on gym life again. Meditation is something i feel will really help…as i want a life style switch forever. Thanks again and best wishes to you all

Running is a wonderful form of meditation. I miss it. We moved to Florida a few years ago and I have had a hard time adjusting to the running in humidity…but it is on my goal list.

Daily anchors are indeed so important. :+1:

I have Meditated daily for the past 2 years and it has improved my life TREMENDOUSLY! It is part of my daily self care and my sobriety Tool Kit. I do it in the morning to ground me and get my head and body in a good space. If I miss a day (very rare) then I always notice . I also say a little prayer before or after the meditation I wrote about asking my Spiritual Guide/ Universal Conscience to Guide me and help me be my full potential.

I have 1.5 years clean and sober .

I use the free app called Insight Timer. It has thousands of options in their library you can bookmark - talks, guided, instrumental, nature, at whatever length you want.

I download meditation apps. I just searched ‘meditation’ and ‘sober meditation’ there is actually one for sobriety! I fall asleep to it a few days a week.

I have been doing the Calm app on the ride into work in the mornings but I am hesitant to spend the money on the subscription. Has anybody who has tried it care to comment?

I try to meditate every morning for 15/20 minutes or so. It helps me center myself, clear my head, relax, and start the day with a positive mindset.

I use the Calm app w a subscription. It’s great for my mindfulness practice and my daughter listens to one of the sleep stories every night to fall asleep after we read stories. I recommend it, the cost is fairly low if you actually use it regularly.

I signed up for the free week of the Calm app. If i remain sober, I will most likely get the subscriptions. When I quit smoking i used a meditation/hypnosis app and it did help. Just feel like I’ve had a stressful past couple years and I need to get re-grounded. The calm app seem to have a never ending selection of series with various topics to work with. I always leave each session with a take away and they seem to build upon each other which i like. And it make my morning train ride veeeeery relaxing.

I also have the Calm subscription. The Daily Calm is good for a 10 minute meditation (I do that in the morning). The topics and series are good too - some are more helpful than others but that probably depends where you’re at and what you need.

I have found it good because it just makes everything really easy to find, with the free apps/YouTube there is so much content I found it a bit hard to know where to start!

I did some of the youtube ones but I would have no idea where to start tbh. This way if i have a fight, there is a session for forgiveness. If something serious happens, there are sessions for grief. I noticed they even had sessions for ppl with World Cup anxiety⚽️. Lol. I really think this may be able to help me out if i keep up with it. For some time, Ive been struggling with my own impulsiveness towards anger or frustration. I need to actively do something to change the way I react to things. Im working on some gratefulness and resilience to stress sessions this week also.

My favourite one so far has been the focus one. Also use one offs for dealing with difficult conversations, worry etc. The images at the end always relate to the Daily Calm. I save the good ones to my phone. There is also a thread for motivational/ meditation messages on here which I uploaded a couple to.

I dip in and out of it now, used it very regularly for first few months and it really helped shift my perspective on lots of things. Including deciding to stop drinking. I need to get back into it while things are going well, shire myself up for the next time things are difficult etc!

I have a Calm subscription and use it daily. It’s totally worth the money. I meditate during the day and use it’s sleep meditations and stories at night. Love it!

Its been a million years since we chatted but i was thinking about you the other day, wondering how you were doing.

I have general anxiety and i can definitely tell a difference when I take time to do meditation or mindfulness.

I don’t think life will ever slow down for us to get centered and figure ourselves out in peace!!
