Day 19 no oxy and now it hurts

So we are on day 19, i posted about the emotional ups and downs so late in recovery, i did not expect physical symptoms on day 19 of no oxy. I had been sleeping so well for 18 days. Going to be early, waking up early, tonight i had insomnia and when i finally slept i had horrific nightmares, twice. Ive ready about physical withdrawl symptoms go oxy but to have it happens almost 3 weeks after stopping…its just frustrating. Ecpecially since i feel like all the strength has gone out of me when i was doing so well with the excercising. I gusse thats all for todays post. Just wanted to whine and moan.

Hi @Brooks. I’m sorry that you’re going through this. When we are actively using we put our bodies through so much. It is understandable that they take time to adjust and repair. My DOC was booze so I’m not clued up on oxy withdrawals but in my sober experience I would say to you… you are doing so well becoming sober. Be strong and patient my friend. Be kind to yourself, if you can’t sleep get up and make yourself s nice caffeine free warm drink. Light a candle and just try to wind down as best you can. We are here for you 24/7 so if it helps to pass this difficult time come on here for a natter. You are not whining and moaning you are reaching out and that is exactly what you should be doing! Good job on reaching out, keep talking, it WILL help. Hope you feel better soon, just give it time, it will pass :pray:t2::two_hearts:

Thank you for the tag @Blondie1x and the nice compliment. You’re such a sweetheart and someone I’ve looked up to since I’ve been on the forum.

@Brooks… Those feelings of withdrawal will come and go. I had this same thing happen to me during the first 6 months. I’d be feeling great for weeks and out of nowhere I’d start hurting and aching all over with no motivation. it would last a couple days. All I can say is do a lot of self care and if that means spending the day in bed then so be it. Hot showers helped. Just remember… that feeling will not last forever. Hang in there, we’re all rooting for you.

Edit…I just wanted to add something about the nightmares. I didn’t have any at all the first few months. Then I started having a couple very sporadically between 3 and 5 months. I thought they were gone forever until a few nights ago and bam I had one at 420 days.
