Day 2 of quitting vaping cold turkey!

Phew! Day 4 alcohol free and 2 days completely nicotine free! I’ve found that my vaping has gotten out of control recently (gone from 4 2ml a week to 8!) so I’ve decided to try and quit whilst I’m recovering from an awful chest infection.
I feel incredibly tense, have a dull headache and feel quite on edge, do nicotine patches help at all?
I would chew gum, but I’m waiting to have a temporary filling replaced
Any advice is greatly appreciated, while I go and sweat off these withdrawal symptoms, haha.

Congratulations on ur numbers! 4 days sober and 2 days without nicotine is a huge accomplishment. I actually quit smoking using the nicorette patches and chewing the nicorette gum. The patches GREATLY reduced the cravings for me and improved my mood. Wasnt nearly as irritable or angry while quitting smoking. I also used lemon juice on my tongue when i wanted a craving. Its strange… i know. But it helped me oddly enough. And i cut out coffee as well so that i wasnt as triggered to have a smoke. Lots of distractions helped

Thank you for your advice! I think I’ll order some patches today.
I love ginger and lemon tea, so perhaps that’ll be a good positive alternative every time I want to smoke.

Can I ask if you’ve noticed any changes after quitting - more energy, no shortness of breath, etc?

I think tea would be a great replacement
I remember initally i felt heavy chested and was coughing up alot of crap. Maybe for abour a week or so. But then i started breathing soooo much better. I had more energy, i could taste food better, had alot more money, and of course a nice plus is that i stopped smelling like smoke all the time. The biggest difference (after that week or so of coughing and having a heavy chest) was my breathing and then being able to exercise more was an added benefit. It was really freeing not having to be a slave to nicotine. I dont miss it at all. Ny husband smokes and i dont crave it one bit. The patches really helped me. I did do the step down method tho. Started at the strongest and then worked my way down. Using other methods for the rare craving that popped up.

Quitted vapes myself also, am on day 4 also. It’s a lesser evil than staying sober from alcohol tbh. well done, it’s a hard one to quit!

Hey @Lile01 i have a little over 5 months vape free. I was vaping nearly every hour of being awake. Nonstop. It was ridiculous and expensive. I set a quit date and put a spend estimate in the sobertime tracker and watching the money saved grow has been motivational. I decided to go cold turkey because i know im an addict and would get addicted to the nicotine patches or gums. I chewed on straws when the cravings were extra tough. I drank alot of water. I cried. I didnt vape no matter what. Its been difficult but so much positive has come.

Positives of me quiting vaping:
Ive saved $2100
I can go up stairs without being winded
I dont cough as much
I can exercise longer
I feel free from the chains of addiction and insanity of thinking of when the next time i can vape is
