Bad one on Saturday night/sunday morning. Still feeling it now. Don’t remember what happened. Not chasing sympathy, just keeping active. I’m slowly getting better, but I am still losing control, pretty regularly too. I feel like shit.Hope everyone is doing okay.
Never good when you wake not remember the night before. And you didn’t wake up in jail or the hospital.commit to going to bed sober tonight.
You ready to try something different? Because your way isn’t working.
Maybe a meeting might help wish you well
Maybe you should try going to a detox for a few days, those are usually free.
Have you tried any recovery meetings?
I know only a few people who can stay sober on their own, man.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re still feeling so out of control at times. I hope things are truly getting better.
If we stay on the misery wheel, at some point, living will seem to become less than ideal. Only three outcomes from what we have-- locked up, covered up or sobered up. Rehab & AA showed me I was worth it. You are too, friend.
I’m back on my day 3 as well and I truly understand how you feel… I don’t want to repeat that mistake over and over again.
This will keep on happening friend…until you end up in the hospital, in jail or dead. I ticked off 2.5 of those over the course of 5 days last year.
My way, my best thinking and my will led to that. Maybe time for you to consider another pilot taking over the controls.
Thanks for the replies. On day 5 now. Keeping a Journal this time. @aussie tiger, check out the Aussies in the house page.
Hope everyone is okay.
#1 Don’t drink today, and everything will sort itself out.
Journaling is good. Output is important, but input also important imo. Listening to podcasts, going to a meeting, reading books. Until you have a big chunk of sober time you really need to spend a lot of time focussing on recovery work.
You got this!
How are you doing?
Day 8.
Going pretty good. Thank you. Will be updating every now and then.
How are you?
Why not daily? Sobriety is a full time job. It requires daily work. If you look at the people on this forum who have multiple years sober one of the things they have in common is checking in here daily. Maybe not posting, but always reading.
I’m working 12 hours 7 days a week at the moment. I have a look at night when I have time. I had a strong craving today, I even checked the bank to see if I had enough for some, thankfully I didn’t, and shortly after the craving passed. Thanks for responding @Englishd.
You had enough time to spend on your addiction though didnt you? Think about how important it was to you to satisfy your addiction and give your sobriety that level of importance.
