Day 3 on recovery - how it’s going

Day 3 feeling sad, depressed with no real reason to why? Little things/thoughts gets my heart and mind racing. Issues which would have not been a problem before are suddenly feeling daunting. Can’t really sleep well, wake up frequently in cold sweats.

Overall I’m in a dull, melancholy, boredom, lonely type of vibe.

Any advice on why to do to snap out of this sooner rather than later?

Its not a case of snapping out of it, its hard at first, really hard…sounds depressing in itself but youve kinda got to get used to the uncomfortable for a while and accept that you are feeling shitty, its ok to be feeling shitty…us addicts have conditioned ourselves for years to get rid of the uncomfortable asap with our addiction…weve used it like medicine for every issue that might come along and so its no wonder we feel like the rug has been pulled from underneath us when we suddenly try to stop doing it right? My advice is to strap yourself in and ride the waves, while you do that concentrate only on staying sober and giving your body what it needs to get through this…good nutrition, make sure you hydrate, get yourself some vitamins…B vitamins are good as these are often lost when we drink, try to sleep…look after yourself alot more right now, if you need comfort look to anything that brings it…a warm bath, a walk in nature whatever that may be…the uncomfortable will subside if you stick to your guns but that takes time and patience, you arent alone we are all here for you and have all been through this and understand so keep venting here if that helps, i did that ALOT in the early days

Thank you, venting and reading others’ circumstances and how the dealt with addiction helps tremendously. Taking things one hour at a time.

What you are doing now might feel terrible at the moment but you have the chance to change your whole life in a positive way because of it, it is hard but nothing worth doing ever came easy right? You can do this

Ugh thanks for sharing this experience. It reminds me of the suck. The first week getting sober is the hardest. Hang on. Your mind chemistry is trying to rebalance and its common to feel out of sorts. What helped me was to accept that i would feel off. I couldnt change it. I just had to go thru it.

Sleep
Walks
Sunshine
Journaling
Yummy food (in moderation)
Lots of water
Hot showers and tears

That helped me

Edit haha just read the responses@Starlight14 we think alike or maybe its not a coincidence that these tips helped us get sober
