Day 3 - Overwhelming Anxiety

Waking up with so much anxiety - ugh this is the worst feeling. Heading back to work today after the long weekend. Thoughts of embarrassment that I’m probably looking banged up from my bender. That I won’t be effective on the job, which requires a lot of analytical thinking and performance under pressure. That I’m going to be diligent about my recovery until I feel better then I’ll stop and become vulnerable to relapse again.

All of these thoughts are just thoughts tho. I have to remember that and just focus on the task at hand. Easier said than done when I feel like I’m crawling out of my skin. Ugh :weary: hate this!

Thanks for letting me share.

This too shall pass! You can do it! And you are going to go over a bit of a hump here. Just tell yourself when you get home from work you’re going to sleep, sleep, and then sleep. The human body is an amazing thing sleep is your friend and it will naturally replenish chemicals that will help with anxiety! I wish you all the best!

Take it one minute at a time. Take some deep breaths and focus on the task at hand. Anxiety can be a bitch to over come but You can do it!!! . :call_me_hand:t3:

Having to work on a comedown or hangover is the worst, the poster above is right though that things will feel better after you catch up on your sleep (which may take a day or two!)

If you have just had a long holiday weekend you probably aren’t the only one feeling like that in work so you probably don’t stand out as much as you think.

Try and focus on your job to take your mind off things, drink plenty of water and slack where you can!!

Hope you feel better soon!!!
