There is a meditation thread here that has lots of calming suggestions, links, etcetera. Scroll down until you find it. Simple slow breaths in, holding it, and then slow breaths out, will help slow your heart rate in many cases. It sounds like being off the medicine is a good idea for you; looking back on your posts it seems like it started back when you started the med. Should you get the chest pain, rapid heart rate and any other symptoms with it, ( breathing changes) do go get help. Take care of yourself and keep being sober and checking in.
If you put “meditation” in the search bar several of the threads will come up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have always wanted to do meditation, I’ve just never made time for it. I should have more time now.

This is a classic Vipsanna meditation. The point of it being to just concentrate on your breathing. There’s lots of silence in it.
Do look at the meditation thread here. There is one that’s recent where people are getting together on a routine basis. When I find the link I will post it over here.

Went to doctor today, after the heart racing and major discomfort started while at work. EKG was okay, but my heart wasn’t racing at the doctors office. So doctor wants me to see a cardiologist and do a 24 to 48 heart monitor. Was prescribed lithium, although pharmacy has to order it. Ugh! Feelings overall better.

Day 7! Very good! It took me about two weeks to sleep again, it was the worst and almost made me drink again. So glad I didn’t. I sleep the best I’ve slept in 20+ years now

Aww, thanks for checking on me. My emotions are running high. Lots of crying tonight. I assume it’s my body releasing the stress. Other than that I’m doing really well. I hit Double Digits at the end of tomorrow :slightly_smiling_face:
Thanks for checking on me, you made my night! I hope you are doing good as well?!

Call the doctor who prescribed the meds. The doctor who prescribed the might say it’s a side effect or they might say call 911.

I went on blood pressure meds after stopping drinking. Hoping to get off next month. I went to spin class, saw all these sparkles while driving home, got home was all dizzy, heart beating weird too. I called my doctor the doctor said those side effects until your body gets use to them, oh ya and he said read the prescription bottle. Sure enough all those side effects were on there and it also said don’t operate machinery too :flushed::flushed::flushed::flushed:
