Day 5 moving to Day 6 no alcohol - feel so much better. Got my hair done - went to the supermarket and resisted buying alcohol - determined and so pleased that I didn’t buy
Each victory makes us stronger. Keep going! Well done
That’s the way to do it ! One of my local stores has beer and then wine lining the aisle as you walk into the store (pretty much), and it’s the main way that I have to go to get to the water and soft drinks.
But I’m always pleased when I just sail by… often, nowadays, I hardly even notice…
Good job !
Great job!! The first days and weeks were the hardest for me. Keep up the hard work
Thank you all - had an urge tonight but with no alcohol in the house I had a non alcoholic drink and a herbal tea - fight the good fight
Your doing great, keep up the good work. Don’t think think think. Act act act =solution solution solution. You’ll be a winner every time
Well done, that’s brilliant! As others have said, each time you don’t react and pick up booze you deffo get stronger. Awesome!
I still don’t look at them if I have to walk by, lol
Great job! It keeps getting better and better! Have a great sober day!
WELL DONE!! im about 10 days ahead of you and I remember 5/6 days in. Was difficult but im glad I didnt aswell.
@Galen_82 that’s great. I am determined - I stood and looked and thought - why - and it won’t just be one - so I bought what I needed and came home and felt so relieved
I think we’ve all been there. It’s one of the most unfortunate things, we still need to shop. And invariably the shop also sells booze.
The booze section sits there like this dark foreboding creature, sat there waiting to pounce.
However the way to defeat this creature is to not give it any credibility. It feeds off your fear of the section.
Do not fear it, and it will go away.
Well done, again, your victory makes you stronger!
Wow congrats xx
I’m only on day 3 however I went to the supermarket last night and picked up a bottle of wine…walked around a bit and my head went.
Yes you can have it, you can control yourself, and then it went…
- No you can’t you are an idiot when drunk, and then you will go back and buy more.
- Which means no savings.
- You will keep getting fatter because you get the munchies.
- Don’t you want to be able to wear your old skinny clothes that you love.
I put the wine back on the shelf, a first for me.
@Soberone - well done both of us. I stood and looked and just went to myself - taking wine or gin home will just start the same sad sorry story again don’t do it. I was so pleased I didn’t and you didn’t
Well done! Im in my first week to.
Ive done a grocery shop online no booze and been in my local shops.
I also threw some away i had in house. X
Day 5 for me yesterday. I had my fizzy cherry in a wine glass and put the music on and had a boogie in the kitchen. Im still me but without the alcohol Was good to realise it is just the drink I’m giving up not who I am and what I like to do.
So true @LostMarble - we are so much better without alcohol - I’m sleeping better - my resting pulse is down 10 beats and I can function so much better - I’m a way better person without alcohol
WELL DONE!!! The right choice!
