This week my cat has been sick and it was worse last night and I need to take him to the vet.
We also had a snow storm and got a lot of snow. It was almost all gone. My car got stuck this morning. Our receptionist lives out of town and I need to cover her position until she can get in.
So, I cannot take my cat in until she gets here. The roads are shitty and there’s a chance of getting stuck again.
IT’S MY FUCKING BIRTHDAY.
Slept like shit last night between worrying about my cat and thinking I’ll have to euthanize him today and my roommate and his guest being loud for hours even though they knew I was heading to bed. Then they tried to wake me up when I had finally gotten to bed because the friend’s car got stuck.
I feel like I’m crashing out and want to do nothing more on my birthday and pop some gummies and eat a shit ton of junk food.
Im so sorry to hear about your cat and that your birthday is painful today. I hope things turn out okay. Don’t give into the cravings, it won’t help. Hang in there, stay connected.

Thanks y’all. Quick update. I can’t get in to see the vet until Monday but my cat seems to be doing better. I avoided my roommate as much as I could and visited my mom. Went to a convention I was debating skipping due to everything happening and impulsively got a tattoo then got some McD’s and went home to game. But I remained sober so that’s a win n
I know things don’t seem right, but getting high isn’t going to help. You’ll feel regret and guilt and the high will suck because you’ll have to start all over.
We need to be able to get through stuff in recovery. We can’t just go get high when things aren’t going our way.
In regards to your birthday - give yourself this gift: stay clean no matter what.
Bad stuff doesn’t happen TO US, we are NOT victims. Just life. Pray, eat, go for a walk in the snow, do something to mark the day.
