Do you consider being on methadone sober? Some people do and others dont. Im just curious. I think it counts because i take it as prescribed…im not abusing it…thoughts?

If you are taking it as prescribed to get free from other stuff yes. If you are moving in the sober direction to improve your life don’t be concerned about others definition.

I am blessed with two beautiful, and by the grace of God healthy, girls. Im just curious of peoples opinions. I went to an AA meeting and was shunned for being on methadone. But when your pregnant, thats the safest choice for you. So i did what was safest for my babies.

Missing the Grey Area 
Hi you guys. I so appreciate and utilize this site in many ways. I read slit and recponded and shared as I thought that is what one (I) should and could do as we became comfortable. I am in no way complaining nirvana I judging. I have noticed that there are a few who seem to dominate the site. Nit in a bad way. I see they post great support and info for all if us struggling and I am so grateful for that. As I stay on the site longer and longer I do not see the Elders trying to graduate us who are trying to listen and contribute on a daily basis. It seems to be a certain group who remain dominating and powerful for everyone else. So my question, is with sincerest inquerey, how do we advance as an elder? I went back to April of 2016 and found a similar question so I am hoping the Elders can help “us” who try to be active daily achieve the very place as they once tried to achieve. This is a nonjudgmental statement/question. I am trying to figure out if it’s best to read like and move on, or create a topic, or just get advice how to better go with the flow!!

There’s no graduating and there are no elders. Just use this site when you need to - it’s meant to be a safe place to get helpful feedback. @Robin is the boss 
and @Steve92, @JustL are moderators.

@WhiteDoves there are no “elders”. Everyone here is in the same boat. (staying sober a day at a time) Some may have more time than others but that’s not really important. You post, like, and comment as much as you choose to. Any knowledge shared comes from your experience, strength, and hope.

Thanks guys, i was just curious. I agree with you @Oliverjava. I think in the right circumstance methadone maintainence can be a caluable recovery tool. As long as you are working the program, shouldnt that be what matters? Everyone does things a little differently. As long as it works, and keeps you sober, thats what should matter.
