They call them palmetto bugs in Florida as well. We had some good sized ones at our house, we were adjacent to a state park and the foliage was quite dense…so we got lots of critters. Plus…inside outside living invites them to come in.

I have heard from a friend who visits the Philippines often (who has traveled the world…merchant seaman, oh he has stories!) that they grow big there. Tho he also posted some horrifying bug pictures from somewhere…it escapes me where right now…they were huge! Not a fan of huge flying bugs.

I managed to spend 30 days in the Philippines, both in a city and the countryside, without seeing a single roach. Must have been a miracle, LOL

I live in SC. Yep, that’s what at we call them. This is the Palmetto State. Thinking the tree, not the bug! At least, I hope it’s the tree.
