Yea its absolutely true, i went through lot of tips but only thing is am working in night shift so that was my big issue in concentration. Thank you

i know exactly how you two feel. i gave up chew about four years ago and went to vaping. i know there is a stigma to vaping but ultimately, it helped me free myself of nicotine all around! I chewed, smoked and snuff’d. one day I said enough is enough and created a timeline for how i was going to quit. granted, it took me 1.5 years longer but i had a plan. cold turkey is hard… it really is but if you can do it and be successful at it, more strength and power to you!
i started vaping with 12mg nicotine juice then dwindled down to 6mg then 3mg then 0mg and after being on the zero for about eight months, i was able to put it down for good! i still get the urges, sometimes strong ones, but i usually stop moving, close my eyes, connect with my higher power for a few minutes and it passes. nothing in life has been easy for me and this was no different.
you can do this! there is a tobacco thread on here that might be of service. it helped when i first put the vape down july14th! still going strong and so happy i’ve been able to make progress. good luck friends!

I dipped for 32 years. Started as an 18 yo Marine. I tried cold turkey, but by day 3, my brain literally stopped working. I couldn’t hold a thought for more than a few seconds… I quit using nicotone lozenges. I started with the 4mg ones and followed the instructions to the letter. After about 6 weeks, I switched to the 2mg strength, and used these for about 6 more weeks. When the day came for me to go to zero lozenges, my nicotine craving was pretty manageable. I chewed a lot of sugarless gum too.

Now they sell these nicotine pouches in convenience stores that have no tobacco in them. It’s the dippers version of vaping I guess. If I were trying to quit now, I’d probably use them to taper off.

I picked up the habit when I was in the Navy. Did it for about 13 years. Tried to quit multiple times with no luck. Then one morning I woke up and said thats it I’m done. Never picked it up again . Before that I tried the patches and they didn’t help. I just made a choice that it was bad for me and I was determined to not do it again no matter how I felt.

Copenhagen long cut, 29 years, we’re breaking up today. Thanks for the replies/advice people, hopefully nicotine replacement is a plan B that I won’t need to execute on, going hard candy, gum and willpower.

I caved this AM, back at it tomorrow, no excuses, fwiw felt really foggy after 2 days, like I was thinking underwater. I’m off next week so have the weekend and all of next week to hunker down and endure. Nice work on 6 days!
