I actually had terrible sensations that made it so i needed to rub the top of my head when i used drugs. Rubbing my head kind of relaxed my head from the tence ache drugs caused.

I would say this is a semsation kind of thing. Perhaps something undiagnosed or anxiety. If not that serious i would say its a habbit you grew into thats disrupting your lifestyle which.may be the start of a needed diagnosis.

I would bring it up to your doctor. From my experience, this is caused by intense anxiety.

Theres no need to rush ok
Be brave out there and stay safe. You can succeed at life my friend

I have time I really don’t touch my face.

but i read it releases dopamine to touch the face

it must also be something like this in my case..

What does the dopamine do in your case? I was diagnosed schizophrenia so too much dopamine can cause hullisinations for myself which is in my chemistry

I actually with extreem sucsess am getting on a safer med with the exchange for me to be in thropy

good question.

it just be that my body thinks that I am just cleaning my face. for example after sleeping we want to clear our eyes. after cleaning the eyes with the finger it maybe releases dopamine. also in conjunction with a slight massage.

its not thaaat bad. but I always do something in my face. and I thinks it’s not hygenic

Ok
Firstly my very good friend i want to say i believe you and i am in no way trying to twist or or lie about what i say

Ok so

Last question that only yourself can hounestly answer.
Is this symptom, interfering with your day to day living?
Examples are..
..going to the baththroom is difficult
..hygiene is off
..cant work
..no accomplishments

Answer the question to the examples hounestly

Phyc wards are very hard. Meds are very unhealthy.
..but
The meds help if they are needed.

Phycological help isnt a thing anyone in there right mind would want to do
However
Phycological help is something that is needed only to help you get through the day

One more question
Where did you learn about dopamine?

when I rub my nose until blood comes out.

that’s so stupid. in total it happens only 4 times this year

if it happened at work I was able to hide it because the nose stops after some minutes.

its luckily not that bad, but it is unessessary

What? How is touching one’s face an issue? Is it a compulsion, or are you rubbing until blistered skin here?

sry I can’t describe it so good.

i mean for example, like playing around with my skin.

it always puts dirt in my face.

and it’s dangerous if I put my dirty hands close to my eyes. because of bacteria or whatever

ok it’s still hard. like putting my hand at my chin. it’s not that necessairy.

writing it down somehow helps me

my skin is getting better. even if it’s just 1 percent.

nobody has something like this? haha

We generally have an addiction to substances or illicit material, or food, like shit that can kill us or harm us big time.

You get why touching our faces is unrelatable, right?

We have an implicit norm that we welcome all compulsions, so feel free to discuss how this is ruining your life.

I love touching my face. I massage often to get lymph moving. Maybe learn to touch positively.

for me the problem is for example the bleeding nose at work. if I rub to heavy it begins to bleed a lot. and it takes like 10 min to stop.

it happened a los at the library one time. I thought That it was dangerous and I called the ambulance ehahah. but it was just that I opened something in my nose and I was shocked by the blood.

also open my skin.

from my left behind addicitiv behavior with alcohol and smoking and cannabis I have the suspicion that touching parts of my face has to do with addiction and can leed to more destructive behavior.

it begins slowly but in my opinion it is to dangerous to ignore it.

right now my nose feels really good. also my skin isn’t that inflamed. I like it

What do you need from others? Reassurance, ways not to touch your face (abstinence from fave touching if you will), or what are you seeking from this thread?

maybe That some people can explain it on a deeper level and tell their experiences with it.

how they stopped.

there is a little behavior loop for example.

hormones play a role.

I recommend to see a psychiatrist as compulsive behaviour on a self-harming level as you discribe it is something a professional should look into with you. It sounds that there is a mental health issue behind it and that should be diagnosed and worked on. Stopping harming your face without looking behind the behaviour might be just symptom stopping.

thanks. yes..maybe one day I will ask for more help.

right now I will try to change my behavior. I think I progressed in the last three day. for example If my nose is tickling or my forehead I just scratch fast with my finger nail and leave my face again.

maybe it doesn’t sound dangerous.

but drinking a little bit also doesn’t sound dangerous

i don’t want to know if it can get worse.

i bet I could.

this is why I take it serious.

i kbow I smoked not only one cigarette. no smoked the whole package.

it will be like this. so it shouldnt be played down in my opinion

good, take yourself seriously. we are the only ones who will at the end of the day.

what you’re referring to is self-harm as @erntedank mentioned. absolutely serious, this is why we use, to self-harm, and touching anything until it bleeds is self-harm.

any therapeutic assistance with medical professionals is important.

have you also heard of the wrist band trick? you put a rubber band on wrist a small one, and when you feel the urge to touch, snap the band on your wrist.

sounds great. it’s a good first step to make my behavior conscious  I try it tomorrow just for a while. and reflect a bit.

thank you!

its interesting right now. it tickles everywhere at my body. but I have to relax. and only scratch fast without touching to much.

its nice to talk about it. it helps.
