Drinks that are non alcoholic

What are some good non alcoholic beverages. Like maybe a non alcoholic beer that you all enjo?

Ginger beer is delicious and doesn’t actually have beer in it.

I am not a fan of most of the na beers —two i like are The Heineken 0.0 - refreshing for 1 or at most 2 at a time - does have a weird aftertaste. I missed my Guinness and have found that the Guinness 0 - find that the taste is very close to the original without the nasty after effect.

Couldn’t find any na red wine wanna b’s - so I totally gave up on that because in trying to match the robust cab taste I found that I would eventually give in and go for the real thing so NO red wine for me.

I too go for the ginger beer and mix with different juices for mocktails.

Water

But seriously I do second ginger beer and all the other root beers (alfalfa, sassafras, birch, general root beer) they’re just right to scratch that itch but no alcohol

I wasn’t much of a beer drinker except sitting down for a pint or two with friends at the brewery from time to time…more of a shots and cocktails guy and would just chase shots with whatever beer was around the house. So…I haven’t really found a particularly good NA beer that doesn’t have a weird aftertaste but I haven’t looked that hard.

I mostly do mocktails and I find getting out my shaker and doing some NA mixology is very cathartic and scratches an itch and the drinks are delicious. My current favorite (probably induced by the gorgeous weather here) is ice, 2 ounces of orange-pineapple juice (but really any tropical juice would work), and a few sprigs of mint, and juice of half a lime, all shaken. Poor into a nice highball glass (sift ice if you like, I usually don’t). Add 6 oz zero sugar ginger beer and top with a bit of coconut syrup and garnish with lime wedge…then find a patio and throw on some calypso.

I’m a big fan if ginger beer in general so sometimes I just have that on it’s own with a squeeze of lime and maybe topped with a splash of seltzer and a sprig of rosemary or something botanical. If I’m just going to have a bottle of something to drink, it’s usually a craft root beer or sarsaparilla.

I like flavored seltzer water - either Lacroix, waterloo, Spindrift or plain sparkling water with cran juice or MIO.

When I go out to eat, I usually get an Arnold Palmer.

I steer clear from NA beers because my alcoholic brain will try to convince me that if I can drink just one NA beer, I could drink just one regular beer just the same, and I’ve read enough posts here that started with “I thought I could handle just one…” to know how that ends.

I mostly prefer seltzers, mocktails made with fancy syrups and juices (not with the non alcoholic “spirits”…though, that is mostly because I’ve never
Purchased them), AND most recently: trying to accumulate “house recipes” for regular non alcoholic drinks like a really amazing unsweetened tea flavored with orange blossom water, an authentic house chai (with freshly ground spices) or Dutch’s Coffee (which is a cult classic around my house made with butter, brown sugar, cream etc etc).

I realized that…the same way people can really get into making a perfect Manhattan, or knowing the subtle notes behind their Cabernet etc……I can do the same thing with non alcoholic beverages! I love hosting people and entertaining…and you’d be surprised how much people enjoy being served a well thought out drink, even if there’s no alcohol in it!
