Eleven months clean

I haven’t really thought about cutting in a bit. There were times when it got really rough again, like the thoughts were there, but I didn’t do it.

Today I realized that my family still doesnt trust me with sharp objects.

Its always a “Can I trust you alone right now?”

I checked how long its been… 11 months, nearly a year.

It’s always a “Can I trust you alone right now?” and never “I’m proud of you, it’s been nearly a year.”

I don’t know what I want. I just wish people would say that they’re proud of me more…

First of all, well done 11 months SH free is amazing Im so proud of you :hugs:

Often its not that family members aren’t proud of you, its just that they are scared it’ll happen again, its a frightening thing to see and find out a loved one is doing.
Just because they haven’t expressed it doesn’t mean they aren’t happy you’re 11 months free of it. You know how far you’ve come so be proud of yourself.

We celebrate with you because its a huge win :clap:t2:

Congrats on achieving 11 months !! Please realize that there are high relapse rates just before that 1st year anniversary !

Usually takes our closest family and friends the longest to acknowledge our efforts, if only because we often dashed their hopes so often with our prior behavior.

Don’t hesitate to tell them “I need to hear that you’re proud of me”…because I know they are and then they can focus on that instead! I am DAMN proud of you Stephen! Great Work💪🏼
