I still make mocktails for myself from time to time- I just overbrew tea so it becomes bitter and then add like 1oz to a cocktail shaker with muddled fruits, syrups, a bit of juice etc.
satisfies my urge to “have a drink” most of the time because it feels special!
You’re welcome! I’m a retired bartender so I still put my skills to work sans alcohol. It feels good to make a special drink for myself besides plain old water.
I do water infusions. Tonight is lemon and blueberries. I love putting fruit in my water. And this way I can refill it with out any extra prep. Never realized until I got sober just how thirsty I am.
Since I started my sober journey I try to start my day with fresh squeezed orange and lemon and a spoon of honey. Rest of the day is reserved in exploring magical world of teas. When summer comes I will probably explore smoothies and shakes.
I’m combining sobriety with weight loss plan. Besides water, I drink mini cans of diet soda. I know it’s not the healthiest option, but it’s easy. Diet Coke & Pepsi are pretty terrible tasting, so my favs are:
I’ve actually been trying all kinds of random stuff I would have never bought. There is a little section in the grocery with specialty beverages and I try a new one each week. DRY Sparkling Cucumber is very refreshing. They also have a Lavender but I’m a little hesitant to try that one. For me it’s more about the glass I’m drinking out of than what’s in it lol. I’ll drink iced green or black tea out of a pilsner glass and the other “fancier” beverages out of a wine glass.
Yogi tea is also amazing. They have little positive phrases on each tag. I’m currently drinking their Detox tea (once a day for 30 days).
