What are some of your favorite smells? So many can be relaxing and calming for the nervous system. Mine are: burning Palo Santo wood, sage, the earthy smell of Fall, the smell outside after it rains, the sea, amber resin that I wear and my favorite essential oil (Release by Young Living oils) that I am often wearing, lavender, a Woodburning fireplace, fresh homemade bread, the forest… There are so many.
I like the smell of Autumn. The air is crisp, and you can almost smell the fallen leaves. I love the smell of meat cooking on fire. I like the smell of cinnamon, and spearmint.
CRAYONS!
Yes I have issues. I have a box in just about every room that I occasionally open up and take a big huff of
Pennyroyal, or any plant from the genus Mentha (mint); freshly split open watermelon; water on asphalt; grilled steak; woody scented candles; bay laurel; lilac; freshly brewed coffee; combination pizza; and cat fur.
Does the smell trigger a fond memory? Maybe not so odd.
I don’t like the smell of oatmeal. Not that it smells bad. It’s actually quite pleasant. I ate oatmeal almost daily for several years, when I was a young married Marine Sergeant with a baby, a stay-at-home wife, a car note, and we had to pinch pennies. Oatmeal every day for breakfast.
Now, whenever I smell oatmeal, I feel poor.
I don’t know how @C-sun smells, but I do love the smell of fall
Freshly cut grass, Simple Green, lilac, rose, and being serious with this last one…gun powder. Grew up on the gun range with my dad…always think of him.
I’m sure there’s a childhood memory buried somewhere in there. My mom knows I love the smell so once in a while she’ll buy me a new box and I just sneak off to the corner to do my thing
I know what you mean about the oatmeal, I was literally just taking about getting burned out on certain things as a child that couldn’t be eaten as an adult because of it.
Bacon and anything in a crock pot.
Lol I’m a chunky white guy with a beard, what more do you expect.
Cinnamon, banana bread, barbeque, pumpkin pie
I love the smell of Napalm in the morning. It smells like, Victory.
I know this may sound weird, but has anyone got the scent of someone that they were close too that has passed on…
I almost forgot, I absolutely love the smell of gasoline, ever since I was a kid.
My mom actually yelled at me once when I was 5 or so because she found me lying on the ground with my nose an inch from the tailpipe…just smelling away.
That actually explains a lot.
I can relate. I blame that on half the reason why I can’t remember anything… the other half was because I was drunk
Firewood burning is one for me in the winter. When the Turkey is cooking and pies and biscuits. The smell of burning diesel for some odd reason. I used to go to Mexico as a kid the trucks passing Smell of leather. I nice smelling candle. Cinnamon Yea I’m weird
Same here brother When the candle goes out that smell afterwards
I’m with @anon46927530, freshly burned gunpowder, ozone, lemongrass
When I was pregnant with my first I used to love the smell of two stroke and diesel, apart from that it has to be vanilla, jasmine, sandlewood and lavender
Weirdly I was just talking about this last night with my husband. Freshly bleached sheets and towels. Reminds me of vacation. Cheap fabric softener reminds me of my Minnie. And patchouli
Fresh cut grass
