I love Jane Austen…Northanger Abbey is my favourite.

I also loved Poisonwood Bible…I bawled on a city bus reading that one.

The Alchemist by Paolo Cohelo is a very short but amazing story. Very thought provoking. Sadly, I have found just about everything else he’s written unreadable. I bail on them all the time.

John Wyndahm’s The Chrysalids (has a different US title…but I don’t know what it is). Absolutely my favourite dystopian novel.

Inspector Gamache novels by Louise Penny are very good too. Still Life is the first one I think.

That’s twice in a day I’ve heard the book Outliers be mentioned. Might have to have a look.

I’m currently reading "The Pennine Way Companion by the late great Alfred Wainwright.

just finished it, not too big on it compared to snow crash. i had a hard time getting through it. snow crash i could not put down, not the case with cryptonomicon for me at least. enjoyed it overall, just not wild for it. a friend gave me seveneves and i will be reading it at some point, but going to stick to some quicker reads for a little. starting exhalation by ted chiang now.

Presently reading The Second Mountain by David Brooks

Would really recommend it.

Favourites: Walden by Thoreau; Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis; LOTR trilogy by Tolkien
