Feel like a new man

So I went to rehab and i was there about 39 days all together. Not to mention no bs this was probably my 30th rehab finally sat down and shut up and listened to what the facilitators had to say. I learned new coping skills and tools to apply to my day to day life. I was approaching 60 days and relapsed! THANK GOD I DIDNT DIE. I was doing the fentynal blues fresh out of rehab. I have heard tons and tons of people dying to overdose. What I failed to realize before I left the rehab was that these “tools” were impractical due to the fact I wasn’t ready and I was sheltered inside the rehab no dope going in or out. I realistically felt like the clean time should start from the first day I’m in the real world as day one cuz that’s when you get hit by all the trigger all the people all the dope means all the hot spots etf point being with all this I wasn’t ready to stop today I’m ready to stop when I was at rehab I met a really good friend and he introduced me to Christianity and before this I had no knowledge had never prayed had never been into it but today I can say this is something really helping me in A.A and n.a it says to find a higher power. Well today my higher power is the Father the son and the holy Spirit. Every time I get a craving I pray every time I eat a meal I pray anytime I get any stinking thinking about anything I pray pray when I wake up pray when I go to bed this seems to really be helping me right now and I’m getting baptized on the 27th

We were just talking about this at my AA meeting yesterday about programs bridging the gap between folks coming out of prison or rehab and the transition back to the real world! I’ll be praying you find your way to good folks and resources to help you continue your journey! God is important but also strong connections with the AA and/or NA communities because those bonds are with people who know what you’re going through personally. Wishing you well!

Welcome to the community!

I’m glad that you’ve found an anchor that keeps your spirits high, and that strengthens you to be sober going forward.

Wishing you the best!
