First week 5 days

Coming up 5 days tonight. Last time I went a week! I’ve never went longer than a week since I had my first ever drink. Anxiety is kicking in and the cravings are creeping up. I can do this!

Day 5 for me also. So far so good today. No real cravings today. I had a big craving on my 3rd day. It is hard to get through but it is possible. Planning my evening to be alcohol free. Planning on replacing it with some tea and good snacks for distraction.

Sounds like a good plan! Well done for day 5. And yeah I’ve found myself snacking a lot on an evening to kind of distract myself.

Glad you’re here Karl! This is a great place to find support and resources for living a sober life and dealing with addiction. There are a lot of threads here dedicated to recovery, but also plenty for entertainment like art, film, music, sports, nature, animals and more!

Great work getting to 5 days sober! You definitely can do this! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need additional support, you’re not alone in this struggle! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

Welcome to the community and congrats on your 5 days . I remember those early days being really tough for me and this community was a major part of what got me through . For me the most important thing was reaching out and talking about it when I was craving or just struggling before I picked up . I highly recommend reading around and participating wherever you’re comfortable and get to know some of the people here. And yes you are right, you can do this. Just keep taking it ODAAT.

12 hours away from a week free of alcohol. 1 more full day and that’s the best I’ve ever done,

Cravings were bad last night started getting itchy feet massively. But it’s a battle that a choose to win and will continue to win. Actually sat with people who were drinking and I just had water. So double win for me.

The physical symptoms will take time to settle, please seek medical help if there’s something worrysome occuring.
As the 12 hours already passed: Sending :sunflower::sunflower::sunflower::sunflower: on one week.
How are you doing today?

@Karl2 Congrats on your 1 week of sobriety :hugs: You can do this, my dear friend. Early recovery was really tough for me, but as you stack up more sober days, it gets a lot easier.
