Always skins for me.
I honestly prefer them that way. Crusts and skins put hair on your chest, as my Grandma used to say. Crafty move Grandma B. :older_woman:t3::sunglasses:

I like skins too, sometimes, depending on the use of the mash. They have a lot of nutrition!

I’m never sad when that silky portion of mash gets set before me at a restaurant and the skins are off but I always leave the skin on at home. Lazy nutrients. :wink:

I always use skins. Potato salad, mashed potatoes whatever. I scrub them with a vegetable scrub brush prior.

I should scrub my mushrooms and my potatoes but I am lazy here too. I cut them, chick them in the pot and hope the dirt comes out in the boil. :grimacing:

I wash mushrooms. A cursory wash with a thumb scrub across the top.
I no longer eat them raw for the most part.
I have a friend who is real big in wanting to go pick them out in the natural world. Across the country. She’s taken classes, etc.
I think that’s scary.
Truthfully, I don’t think I have ever - - - - - - a potato.

I admire mushroom hunters. Safely, from afar. My Dad used to take us mushroom hunting as kids and I miss it.

She wanted New York style.
I wanted Detroit.
So we compromised and went our own ways. I even got olives.

And I loved it so much I ate all mine. And I don’t regret a thing. I do regret eating 2 pieces of hers. But I did go on a long hike and only had cereal and an apple today.


THE PAYBACK -
Small Detroit
supreme pizza: pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives & onions. Hold the shrooms!!

It was sooo worth it.
