Foodies Unite #11 (trigger warning food) WE CANNOLI DO SO MUCH, BUT OUR LEGACY WILL BECOME A PIZZA HISTORY

I just recently spent 3 months in Cambodia. The food is great, not as good as the rest of SE Asia but they definitely make some some good stuff. Also ate alot of strange things there like grilled tarantulas and snake.

I go through these phases with food especially with what I’m craving at night time.. For a while it was Canned oysters. Then it was chicken noodle soup.. Couldn’t get enough of that soup for months, Chocolate and candy.. For a while it was different seasoned pretzels especially Buffalo.. and now I’ve really been liking cereal. I like Cheerios because it’s a classic cereal and I don’t feel bad after eating this or tired. I don’t know if anybody else in sobriety has certain foods they like or it rotates? Also I like honey bunches of oats , Granola, grape nuts and other similar cereals

Japanese Nikujaga. Basically a meat and potato stew that I made more soup like. Dashi miso broth with mirin, soy and cooking sake.

We thought they were very good!! I added some shredded parmesan cheese after the picture cause I forgot. I think adding some broccoli might be nice and made it more filling. The package says it’s 4 servings but it didn’t feel like it would have fed 4 people.

I definitely get on food hyper fixation kicks. I’ve been obsessed with watermelon for like 2 months. I’ll go through one in just a few days.

Last week I was on a spinach wrap kick. Just with cheese in it or turkey and cheese or bacon and cheese. I ate one of those wraps every day for lunch for like a week

How much is asparagus where you live? I love the stuff but it’s $8-10 CAD where I am right now which is an insane price that I refuse to pay

Today is National Noodle Day - so more love for your picture - even if it was posted yesterday. :sparkling_heart:

Right?? Early spring is the only time asparagus doesn’t cost the same as gold around here :joy::joy:

Don’t know where you are in Canada but here in southern Ontario food as a whole costs waaay too much right now. It’s insanity

I literally just saw this on Saturday 24.99 for about a KG. I was going to buy the same ones, but luckily I have a friend coming back from Colombia so he’s bringing me fresh coffee beans.

It’s funny you bring up coffee. I got completely enraged and had a rant with a like 90 year old man who happened to be in the aisle about how coffee went up like $5 since the week before and there was no way I could afford to keep drinking it. I swore that day I was giving up coffee. As I continued to shop I reminded myself how much I used to spend on booze and went back and bought the damn coffee. :joy:

I can only imagine the shock after a year away. I’m here grumbling every week and swear I’ve almost cried at the checkout a couple times. Feeding a family of 4 is no joke right now.
