You said you were working on your nutrition. Are you tracking macros?

Yeah. I set my daily macros and then each of the three meals for the day have their own macros within the daily limit for my needs in that particular meal.

Hamburger stir fry with zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, and bean sprouts.

I found some sugar free dark chocolate. They sweeten it with dates. No added sugar.

Love seeing your dates. For many years, a friend would bring me dates that she ordered from maybe California, they were good, but I found out lately that my local grocery store dates that they’re packaging and selling are better.

I have a problem with sometimes eating too much of certain foods, desserts, and cheese primarily. Now I can add dates to that list.

I ate six boxes in February. They were delicious.

I’ve been noticing that you will have one on your plate or two on your plate. I admire you for that.

Next time I have the dates I will take a picture of one of them for you and also see where they come from.

How many hours a day are you fasting?

Your meals you’ve been fixing absolutely look delicious and very healthy.

Thanks so much! I’ve only started eating them recently. It’s a superfood, so can you really eat too much?

I have 2-3 dates a day. It’s a religious thing for me. Our prophet (peace be upon him) would start and finish his fast with a date. That’s why I do it and all the other Muslims too. So one in the morning and then 1-2 when I break my fast.

So my morning date is the last thing I eat and when I break my fast the date is the first thing I eat. The days right now aren’t too long it’s about 12 and a half hours. For example today is 5:37 am to 6:15 pm.

My favourite date so far is the Ajwa date, it’s got a lot of complexity to it. If you have a “halal” grocery store or butcher shop in your area they will sell them.

Thank you for explaining it to me. I appreciate it and your pictures will mean that much more to me.

Im dates eater as well  Last 10 years I had maybe couple of days that i hadn’t eaten at least one. Usually add them to my morning nutritions- and calories-bomb smoothie (2 spoons wheat bran, 3 medium or 2 big medjoul dates, spoon of peanut butter, cacao, 20g collagen, 3g creatine, banana, plant milk). I’m buying my dates in halal shops as well, they are the best there (same as bulgur, couscous, spices and more).

I saw a recipe on the Internet made by a gastroenterologist. He says it’s the perfect healthy snack

He takes the pitted date, stuffs it with peanut butter, swirls healthy, dark chocolate on it, and then rolls it in chopped almonds.

I get his point, it’s just I would eat all of them. You run so you can do that. :hugs:

Your smoothie sounds delicious and very healthy. Good way to start your day. @poppyfairy

I do love dates. I just looked to see how many stores carry Ajwa. It looks like quite a few. It’s my job for the day. I do like that dates last a really long time because I eat them a lot, and then I don’t.

I wish I like smoothies. I have tried to. I just like to chew.

@Runningfree I am now in love with that banana sandwich. I have never done it that way AND I will TODAY!

I don’t really like bananas so that’s the only way I’ll eat them. The peanut butter makes it better

Chicken katsu has turned out to be a crowd pleaser and is pretty straightforward to put together as a midweek dinner. The chicken is buttermilk breaded from the supermarket and the rest is all store cupboard fare. Next time I’ll make the sauce a little thicker, although flavour wise it was fine.
