Foodies Unite #3 (trigger warning food) (Part 1)

Queso dip trumps most allergies. Especially if you haven’t had it for a long time. Queso dip and Tex Mex is what we miss most about living in Austin TX. We dream about Matt’s Queso and cheese enchiladas.

Trying intermittent fasting this week, and today broke my fast with a smoothie. Saved half of it for afternoon snack, since I can’t seem to make a reasonably sized smoothie to save my life. Almond milk, Greek yogurt, plant-based protein powder, baby spinach and kale, and frozen bananas and blueberries.

Never had Spam, but I love the other ones. And yes, we don’t have it in Sweden. I stock up whenever I’m in US. My opinion however is that Candy Corn should be sold here. Last year me and my kids eat until we felt ill :joy:

Another thing that we also should have is Hot Tamales and cinnamon toothpaste. But nope we don’t. My American friends usually laughs at me because everytime we come I go to WalMart first thing and buy a lot of the things we don’t have. And when I brush my teeth I’m running around like a happy kid cheering. Omg it’s like brushing your teeth with hot Tamales. :joy: We miss so many delicious things over here.

I was! I probably over cooked them a touch. Very tender. But delicious.
I think I was thrown off last time I had fresh at a restaurant as they were very hard and I think underdone.
These were super tasty though. Especially with the char. I just used garlic, herbed sea salt and olive oil :yum: next time: bacon!!

@Dejavu
The restaurant I ran in Austin, Magnolia Cafe served this. :point_down:

I think it was the most popular thing on the menu. Especially with the after bar crowd. :flushed:

Oooh I’m intrigued. Do you add tahini?

Yup, tahini and lemon juice and garlic, basically sub black beans for the garbanzos/chick peas. I always spice anything with black beans using cumin, they go hand in hand in my book, but you can spice however you want.
