Foodies Unite #3 (trigger warning food) (Part 1)

I would charge about £55 for that on my specials board!

I think I posted a picture of my scallop and chorizo starter a few weeks ago - It had 4 scallops on it and probably 40g of chorizo and it was £14 !

Keeping it simple. Pan seared salmon and a sesame, soy and lemon drizzle (in the measuring cup). Hubby likes to put butter on everything but he put the drizzle on the salmon, to my surprise.

Yummmm! Now I want salmon! Drizzle looks awesome :star_struck:

It turned out great! I just spiked a bottle of Asian sesame salad dressing with soy sauce and lots of lemon juice and warmed it up. Yum.

I love sesame flavour. Oooh I have some sesame oil. Perhaps I’ll add that to some soy and marinade the rainbow trout I have in freezer. Or make a drizzle. Off to grab it from freezer before I forget to take it out in morning. Thanks for inspiration! :hugs:

Planning on making fish tacos for lunch.
Either of you wonderful chefs

Know of a sauce I can whip up with basic ingredients I might have around the house besides tartar sauce.

I would love a creamy lime garlic cilantro type but I don’t have any fresh cilantro. Any advise?
You got 3 hours. Go!:rofl::rofl:

Do you have chipotles en adobo?
Edit: if you do, a creamy chipotle sauce with sour cream, mayo, lime juice, garlic etc is excellent for fish tacos. If no chipotles, any kind of hot sauce added to it could work, maybe. That’s all I got.

No. We don’t keep that kind of stuff in the house. The wife is a like a plain Jane meat a potatoes gal. Not that there’s anything wrong with it. I do have everything else you mentioned though. I got some pickled jalapeños in the fridge. Maybe use some of those and put it in a blender?

BTW. I love chipotle anything.
Maybe I’ll get a couple of those small cans of chipotles just to keep in the pantry.

Oh and thanks.

Yeah, I open a can and then often freeze the remainder in small quantities since I don’t use much at once. Herdez (I think) also makes a street taco brand of salsa that comes in a tall skinny squeeze bottle type thing, I think they have a chipotle one that is decent. I don’t know about using the pickled jalapeños, I’d think the vinegar might be strange in a cream sauce. Just the lime and garlic would probably be fine, too.

I’m no help! I’ve only had them once at it was at a restaurant

Well, I went with.
Blackened Halibut fish tacos.
With a chppped lettuce and onion. Mix.
Didn’t have preferred cabbage or cilantro.
With Secret Rosa Sauce :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Used what you said Rosa and went with the pickled jalapeños. Puréed it all in my little food processor.
It came out pretty pretty pretty good.
