Christmas Brunch

Still got a family dinner ahead tomorrow. But enjoyed my own stuff on my own just now.

Friet Stoofvlees (Flemish beef stew with fried spuds)

And Stoofpeertjes met yoghurt (Dutch Stewed Pears with the best yoghurt around)

Your meal looks beautiful. The poached pears look right out of a magazine

My favorite holiday (sort of) cookie - molasses ginger spiced cookies. Chewy and fragrant.

Christmas spread. Lovely smoked mussels and salmon from the Canadian Pacific Northwest, Eric’s favorite little smokies and good mustard, red bell peppers (raw AND roasted), tomato, olives, hummus, cheeses etc etc. Decadent for us, for sure! I love having a stocked pantry. Enough to cheer anyone up! Merry Christmas. :christmas_tree:

Brunch at The Terrace.
At the Maybourne Beverly Hills. My daughter is sick so it was just the 2 of us.
And Santa.

Festive canapés
Oven warm Bub and Grandma’s country bread with artisanal Beurre de Bordier.

The salted French churned butter is amazing.

Butter lettuce with pear, smoked blue cheese, and pecans

Great combo for a salad.

Maine lobster au gratin for me. Kelly had the turkey dinner.

Anyone want some dessert?
Of course I passed on the free champagne and the French desserts. I’m such a fucking badass.

It was a gingerbread cake which I would have loved. And my favorite butterscotch syrup for the ice cream and homemade whip cream. I don’t know what the log roll looking thingy is but it’s in our fridge now.
Merry Christmas y’all :santa: :christmas_tree:

I swear to god I was going to cook at home tonight. But the wife called an audible and made a res at the last minute at the Courtyard Kitchen 1 block away. What could I do?
No point in arguing over that one :joy:

Chipotle burger.
It was a good call.

One of the dishes I had. My comfort food changed up a little. My version of Dutch Stamppot with spinach instead of kale. Wonderful!
@Dazercat that’s a French Buche de Noel … I posted one in the last few days. Your log with a mushroom on top! PS I want the lobster and the salad from The Terrace!

I posted the two pics so you can see the pretty sunshine reflected in the table. The days are getting longer

It’s a Yule Log Cake. We don’t make it here but I’ve heard of it.

Got an early start on today’s meal due to some insomnia (no biggie ). My favorite - wild rice blend dressing to go with some roasted veg and chicken later on. So so tasty. Mirepoix or soffritto (depending on where you land), garlic, mushrooms, chopped pecans, thyme and sage along with the rice blend. Plus bacon!

Last night’s Christmas meal. Roast chicken with sides. Also did a broccoli slaw, and some red pepper jelly appies (spicier than expected lol), plus crackers, goat Brie & Camembert. I’d planned to bake brioche rolls but that slipped my mind but that’s not a bad thing. Lots of food plus the lime cheesecake for dessert

As a pescatarian this looks delicious! I’m newly sober and have had almost no appetite at all. I’m on here trying to get inspired to put some food in my body. So far, you win in my eyes lol. Hope it was as yummy as it sounds/ looks!
