Foodies Unite #6 (trigger warning food) ANOTHER ONE BITES THE CRUST!

English muffin breakfast sandwich. I love this little egg thing to keep the fried egg round! Bought it for my husband for some holiday and it’s the first time I’ve used it. Past it’s prime avocado was meh but at least it didn’t taste bad.

Always treat your butcher well.

Thise yielded 12 pork chops and 2 roasts (15 bucks because I did the butchering)

This yielded 4 packs of stew meat for 30 bucks

Tuscan white bean, kale and ground pork soup and a mini crockpot of spinach artichoke dip to keep us warm handing out candy on Halloween.

@Thirdmonkey that’s unbelievable! I need to make friends with a butcher!

It was pretty stellar considering it was made in a slow cooker and not my preferred method of baking. Recipe is based loosely on this one from America’s Test Kitchen (screen shots since most recipes on their site require paying for a membership). I modified by using additional garlic and stirring in some fresh grated Parmesan. I think that put it over the top yummy. I considered using marinated artichoke but glad I didn’t because I think it would have made it too oily/greasy. I also used slightly more cream cheese, maybe 8 oz. For a low fuss, quick set it and forget it method, I recommend it.

Thank you, it was absolute nectar, i slow cooked the gammon joint first for the stock then cooked the veg (swede, carrots, onion, white cabbage, parsnip) in it with pulses( lentil, barley, split peas) then chopped up the gammon and added it, salt, pepper, good knob of butter, was beautiful, i took a pan to my parents too as my stepfather isnt very well at the moment
