With the utmost respect, I do not love the name of this thread. I am not “former” anything. I’m currently a tweaker in recovery. Until the day I die I will be a meth addict, whether I’m in recovery or back in active addiction. I will never be a former meth addict.
After heavy use for a long time, 2 rehabs, a dead brother, more escorting than I care to admit; it’s been 4 years, 3 months, and 9 days. Yet I nearly threw it down the toilet last night. But, I’m still here.
I’ve rebuilt life these last few years, found employment back in my profession (legal), and built a life with a modicum of more support than I had before.
