Anyone have stories from the Fourth of July weekend so far?
Reasons why seeing others drink keeps us sober? Lol
One of my neighbors visitors decided to shoot of their fireworks in the street and it landed on my roof and bounced onto my porch. Yea glad I wasn’t sitting out at the moment when a still hot and smoking firework could have bounced off my, my wife or daughter’s head. Aye carumba. The staggering absurd adults weren’t very much help. Glad that’s not me at this point in life. Yipee. Big booms
It was right on top of their roof from their porch. I was just waiting for the roof to go up in flames as the embers fell on it. Luckily we have a fire station about 30 seconds up the road. Lol
Definitely noticed others behavior get more reckless as the night went on. No one was falling down drunk but suddenly everyone couldn’t keep track of their young kids anymore, were letting them get to close to the fireworks display, misplacing their drinks, etc.
For a min early on, I felt like I was missing out, but I sure was thankful to be sober when it was time to light the fireworks so I could help keep everyone safe and then again when it was time to drive my kids and I home safely. Waking up with zero regrets this morning.
Due to covid, the public firework displays/shows were cancelled this year for 4th of July. But everyone bought illegal fireworks from out of state or Mexico. They are the kind thar are launched into the air. Normally, you can only buy very low ground type of fireworks. I felt like I was in the middle of a show, there were so many fireworks and POP, Boom, Crash!
