Hey everyone my name is Yazzy and I’m new to this community. I’ve been sober now for 117 days from alcohol and 45 days free from smoking cigarettes. It has been such a blessing to finally get it right!! I’m staying strong

Sorry I am not a AA member.
Lots of great threads on this forum filed with advise and support.
For a sponsor I would check your local area AA to ensure someone in real life who is also in your time zone.

Thanks Jason, I can only attend zoom Meetings. But I was just wondering if people on this platform attend AA. There is a sponsor option on here I thought it was for AA.

I go to AA Have done since 1986 i sponsor guys through the 12 step program my guys go to face to face meetings but im sure you will find one online wish you well

Yeah not sure why there is a sponsor option on this app if it’s not AA related lol.. I will find an AA sponsor eventually. I do the self studies by myself it’s been working just fine for me.

what is this sponsor thing about?
maybe there are sponsor for my media addiction? or is this addiction to harmless?
On the home page when you open the app, left top corner where the 3 lines are you click on that and at the bottom it says enter sponsor phone number to keep in touch. I wasn’t sure what kind of sponsor they were referring to. Made me think it was AA related .

I have been on here since 2016 and am not familiar with that being an option. Members here are from all around the World. It’s a personal choice for both sides of the relationship. If there is an option, let everyone know where you found it.
I’m glad you’re here. You’ll definitely learn all you need to know about many things. I am not an AA member, but know it’s helped so many people.

I was unaware of this option. I did check to confirm that it’s there on the apps homepage and can’t figure out what it would be for. Tagging the moderators for some insight.

I think it’s just a spot where you save your own sponsors phone number.

Yeah but if this is not AA related then a sponsor for what and why is the option there?

This platform is not to find a sponsor. It’s a forum where all kind of people talking how to manage life sober from whatever addiction and from their personal way of recovery.

I understand you mean this page.
I would say it is just put there for your convenience to have your sponsor‘s number at hand in the app. It does not nesesseraly imply you have a sponsor.

A sponsor from this app?? What kind of sponsor if it’s not AA affiliated? This is what’s throwing me off in the app.
